Noticed that the banner has pictures of some old PCM games. Maybe it's time for a new one? It might be nice to have a competition, where everyone can create a banner for the site, and in the end people can vote for the winner, like at the awards?
Anyway, just an idea. There's nothing wrong with the banner, but it could be nice  |

I think the picture with Boonen, Pozzato and Steegmans is quite nice. Reminds me of the good old days of the older PCM's

I agree with Ian. It has been there for quite a while now, and something different and more new should seem more relevant for the site at this point. And if it was to be changed, a competition would be a fantastic way to involve the members in the creation of the new banner. Great idea Ian, i support it

Think how much fun it would be for the graphic artists to do the competition and receive the ultimate award if you win: your banner up there for x time!
Just following a stream of ideas at the moment, it could even be yearly, right before the awards. So the winner gets chosen at the same time, and your banner gets up there for a year, you know.
Might be fun.

That could be true, but as the person not connected with graphics at all, it does not mean a thing for me. I just love the old one, maybe a forum-wide poll would be cool?

Yeah, maybe. But we should probably wait for an admin to give the "go" first, they would probably want to run it through CrueTrue first, since it's a major change from the site. I'll PM this thread to an admin  |

I've always liked the idea of trying to make one. Would probably be fun. Problem is I dont know the font thats used (we see it on the banner, the award gfxs, and probably other places as well). Keeping with "tradition" would be nice.
I've got a fair few ideas as well.
Another option I've seen on other sites is a changing banner, where a different image shows up each time you load the page, so it gives the possibility of more than 1 members banner featuring, but I guess thats probably a bit of work to set up. Would allow us to keep the current on too, for those with nostalgia if this one does get replaced with a newer and better one.
Edit: Potentially of course. None of this is up to me.

Anyway, I think we should create a poll or something eventually, let the people decide.

There is a website the gives you the font. Forgot what it's called but search font identifying sites or something. I have used one before. It works

So are we going to do anything about it?
Maybe we could ask in a poll, but where would the poll get noticed by most (active) users to vote on it?
There should probably be 3 answers: in favor of changing, against changing and no opinion. |

if a few people came up with banners or even if only 1 person came up with a new banner you could just run a poll that includes the current banner as one of the options.
