Slightly modified from last season's post.
With the end of the season rapidly approaching, it's time to select a route for the season's grand finale, the World Championships.
History:
2021: Flat
2020: Hill
2019: Cobbled Mountain
2018: Flat
2017: Hill
2016: Cobbles
2015: Mountain
2014: Flat
2013: Hill
2012: Cobbles
2011: Hill
2010: Mountain
2009: Hill (Flat finish)
2008: Hill
As flat won last season, it will not be one of the choices this time. Please vote for your choice from the others.
Vote on exact location/route will follow once there is a clear winner here. Please nominate suggestions for routes in this thread.
Generally the ITT and TTT routes will match the RR course.
Deadline: 15th April, 23:59:59 PM, Daily Time

As 2020 was already virtually a mountain race (Herklotz, Lecuisinier and Phinney in the Top 4), my vote goes to cobbles. If we choose hills, we should make sure to choose a course that suits the true puncheurs.
Thanks for getting this started, Abhi!

I have opted for hills as I think it’s the one route where a lot of different type of riders have a shot.

Cobbles or hills for sure!
Somewhat sad that we can't get another flat WC, it was a joy to report last year's WC, some really fun racing was undertaken there for sure.
I personally voted cobbles because I think it's fun but as long as we don't get mountains I am happy!

Hills - I'd love us to go back to the Rio Olympic circuit, that's a super fun course & we haven't been to South America since 2010. Otherwise a WC in the Netherlands is long overdue (and could also be used for Cobbles)

Cobbles! But proper cobbles, not the bullshit we had in 2019

Voted for Mountain, because it'll be unfair if Hill is selected for a second time in 3 season. But I'm fine with cobbles as well.

Everything but cobbles please, as otherwise I can't send a single rider
Going for hills then, although it's probably hopeless

Cobblers haven't really been able to shine since 2016, so it's time they had a nice cobbled route that suits the WC's. Thinking one step further, we've only had 1 WC hosted in Africa (in 2015), and with the cobbles available in Rwanda and them having some strong presence in MG, I'd love a Rwandan (Kigali?) cobbled WC

Voted for hills as I have almost no cobble riders, but a cobble course in NZ would not be too bad. A nice farewell for a legend in his home country in his final competitive season, just why not...

Just had some thoughts without looking at the thread and when I opened it to post it I find Nemolito having laid out exactly my thoughts 2 posts above. What an embarassment to me.

Wall of Kigali would make it more like 2019 again though, I don't think the advantage should be given to the climbing cobblers once again.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

As the voting is not entirely one-sided yet, keeping this open for now. Please vote if you have done so already.

Deadline is not over yet, but I think the results are quite clear already:
Mountain 20% [9 Votes]
Cobbles 50% [22 Votes]
Hill 30% [13 Votes]
The 2022 World Championships will be held on a Cobbled route.

The options I'm thinking about for the Route Vart part 2 are hilly cobbles and flat cobbles. Is there anything else possible?
Will set up part 2 in a couple of days.
