Philadelphia International Championship

Welcome to the 12th edition of the Philadelphia International Championship. Quite a mouthful, isn't it? For this year it's moved into the PTHC category which means we will see some of the best sprinters here. At almost 195 km in length it provides some undulation throughout, but it's still a sprinter's classic.
With that said let's look at some of the favourites:
| Sprinter | FL | RS | SP | AC | Leadout | FL | RS | SP | AC | Coquard | 73 | 74 | 84 | 83 | Farantakis | 72 | 70 | 78 | 78 | Ahlstrand | 74 | 73 | 83 | 82 | Silva | 75 | 70 | 77 | 78 | Ewan | 75 | 71 | 83 | 81 | Major | 74 | 70 | 77 | 78 | Kennaugh | 77 | 71 | 82 | 81 | Venturini | 75 | 74 | 75 | 77 | Silvestre | 78 | 71 | 80 | 81 | El Sabbahi | 73 | 72 | 73 | 73 | Manninen | 74 | 75 | 81 | 80 | Manarelli | 72 | 65 | 79 | 79 | Van der Lijke | 73 | 71 | 82 | 79 | Holloway | 76 | 74 | 78 | 79 | Cullaigh | 73 | 70 | 80 | 81 | Bar | 76 | 70 | 76 | 74 | Samolenkov | 74 | 71 | 81 | 79 | Trakhov | 68 | 74 | 69 | 75 | Vesely | 73 | 68 | 81 | 80 | Hodeg | 72 | 74 | 79 | 78 | Zabel | 74 | 70 | 81 | 79 | Willwohl | 73 | 67 | 79 | 78 | Van der Sande | 75 | 73 | 79 | 79 | Havik | 73 | 68 | 79 | 76 | Itami | 74 | 66 | 79 | 81 | Gibbons | 75 | 72 | 78 | 78 | Afewerki | 73 | 70 | 79 | 80 | Hamza | 71 | 70 | 71 | 71 | Guerao | 73 | 63 | 82 | 75 | Garcia Cortina | 76 | 72 | 77 | 76 |
Coquard is the fastest man here and he has a decent lead out rider. Silvestre and Cullaigh are also well supported, but that might matter less for them. One day races can be more chaotic so lead out trains might not even form, but if they do I don't expect it to work for the majority on the above list.
| FL | ST | RS | SP | AC | FT | Andersen | 81 | 77 | 78 | 76 | 74 | 72 | Wisniowski | 80 | 75 | 76 | 73 | 76 | 74 | Pedersen | 77 | 78 | 80 | 78 | 77 | 75 | Brockhoff | 79 | 74 | 76 | 62 | 73 | 64 | Vanbilsen | 78 | 80 | 74 | 72 | 71 | 72 | Nych | 78 | 75 | 72 | 65 | 76 | 84 | Garcia Cortina | 76 | 76 | 72 | 77 | 76 | 70 | Gibbons | 75 | 73 | 72 | 78 | 78 | 65 | Trondsen | 75 | 72 | 73 | 76 | 76 | 66 | Blythe | 76 | 76 | 71 | 76 | 73 | 72 | Larsen | 75 | 73 | 71 | 76 | 75 | 65 |
The last 2 years the race has come down to a sprint finish. If any team is capable of changing that it should be Grieg. Andersen, Wisniowski and Pedersen are all very dangerous with late attacks and Grieg has done it before. Polar also have some good rouleurs and they might be better off going down that route. Vanbilsen also has a clear free role to do what he wants.

Manninen has performed incredibly well and consistent in classics this season. Think this is his last one. One final top-5 would definitely be welcome
Thanks for the preview, red!

Vesely far enough down the favorites so hopefully we won't build a train and actually stand a chance for once.

Hopefully with Coquard and Ahlstand here we won't be making a train, and Ewan can surf himself to a solid Top10. With the deceptively sharp climb RS will abosultely matter and should put Manninen in a great position to win this one.

One error in the preview: Coquard is actually the lead out rider for Samolenkov.

we had an excellent result with Kennaugh in the last race but I don't know how far we will be able to repeat the same feat. I hope to be in the fight for the victory and get at least one place in the top5 but unfortunately with this pcm you never know and we might not even finish in the top10.

Back in the days this was an uphill sprint. Don't think that's the case now, but hopefully we can shake it up nevertheless. We have a strong team of roleurs here, so expecting them to at least try something and hopefully also some sprinting for minor points.

I picked this race with Gaviria still in mind (where is he by the way???) and didn't want to risk Bonifazio here. So we basically have no one and any points would be great.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Wrong band sadly, though I would've liked to be here with Gav.

Lodging an official protest with the MGUCI over Ewan somehow being third based on that final screenshot. That's the kind of bullsh*t i would have expected last season when we were fully cursed
Knew the bumps would effect things, and Ewan did very well to stay in contention for his 5th Podium of the year.

My CPU is crap. I get this kind of screenshots in all my sprint reports.
Sorry.

Matti was looking good with a couple of kilometres to go, but seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time in the end. Shit happens. Congratulations to Binance and thanks for the report, red!

Gave it a try, but not to be this time. Four guys top 31 is decent enough though.
Congrats to Binance and thanks for the report, redordead!

My theory that the 7th man in line at 1.2km to go wins, nearly holds up, this time it was the 8th man.
Curse of the leadout train remains.
Happy with 9th for Zabel.
Congrats to Binance and thanks for the report red.
Order at 1.2km to go and finishing positions
1. Van der Lijke - 13th
2. Ahlstrand - 2nd
3. Coquard, - 7th
4. Silvestre, - 10th
5. Itami, - 8th
6. Ewan, - 3rd
7. Vesely - 5th
8. Kennaugh. - 1st

thank you guys
I have to say that I am actually completely surprised by this result. Two wins in a row in the sprint is completely abnormal for the team. It seems that it paid off for me to criticize my decision to bet on sprinters. The game decided to make me rethink when I said I wouldn't do it again.
This victory in particular will be a great help to pull the team to a safe place in the standings.
Thanks for the report.

Congrats on the win fintas. 14th is as good as we could have expected from van der Sande I guess, so I have to be pleased with that.
Thanks for the lively report red!
