Oof. Sosa was in the right position, but just didn't have that acceleration in the sprint. Meanwhile Foss loses significant time. Not a great day for us.

Szarka with a great display of strength on stage 5, justifying his stagiaire contract and applying for more! Shame he got somewhat boxed in, that could've been a podium even!
On stage 6, huge thanks to Hirschi for bringing back Mäder - who then did an amazing job putting some time into most of the peloton and getting himself into a great position now! The two MTFs and the long TT should definitely suit him, so a GC Top 10 looks to be more realistic than ever - even more with a top domestique like Hirschi
Thanks for the enjoyable reports, Nemo, although I didn't comment that much lately

Good to see small time kiddy teams winning stages
Conci needs to limit the losses on mountain stages to Bernal to have a chance of actually winning and we've done a great job supporting him so far

Great effort that from Conci which isn’t something he’s known for!
Hopefully he didn’t use too much energy as the Mountain stages will be tough and decisive. He’s shown pretty strong form so far so we’ll hope for the best.

Great stage for us, but decisive part of race starts tomorrow!
Thanks Nemo for brilliant report.

Not great from McCormick, Fung finishing behind McNulty and Mano not as competitive as he should have been. Hopefully saving ourselves for the Mountains but not sure we are good enough to swear off the breakaways like we have been.
thanks for the reports.

Incredible stuff from Storer. tsmoha will be really happy
We've lit up the race so far but I think that's the end of our GC challenge. Inkelaar is too far behind now and with the ITT will be even further back. Not sure Eenkhoorn has enough to challenge for even a Top 5 with his time loss too. But can't complain. Perhaps our support team was too strong for the GC riders to solely get protection.
Thanks for the report Nemo

Foss loosing more than a minute is unfortunate, as with the TT, I started to fancy his overall chances here. Now, it will be a lot tougher.
Good to see Sosa be up there, eventhough he lacked the final kick in the sprint. Storer is sensational, congratulations, Abhi!
And thank you again for the reports, Nemolito. They're well-written and great to read. |

Frustrating day for Habtemichael there, annoying if we're treating Higuita as our leader, hope it works...
Loved the depth the other day though and Hamza sprinting to a podium Also the Storer wins

Too bad Sivakov didn't finish in the first group, maybe he can attack tomorrow but Bernal definitely looks (too) strong.

Ouch, that was a tough stage! Storer still incredibly strong, the yellow jersey bonus clearly coming into play! And what a win by Higuita, fantastic ride!
Conci should now have a huge chance to win the Tour - or can Bernal gain back those 29"? TT will be tense for sure, and I'm already looking forward to the closing stage, too!
For our team, Mäder definitely did a great job, and might even be able to gain a few spots tomorrow. A shame that the breakaway didn't quite work out for Hirschi, but well - he's still got another try next year!
Thanks for the report, Nemo, that really was a great stage to follow! Even though I absolutely disliked the "let's just let the exhausted helper do the work and sit up" attitude we could observe over and over again this year - not good if this already starts with the U23 guys....

Well that was a weird day! Festina going about as crazy as you can without actually winning.

Surprisingly small gaps. Good stage by Foss and with such a tight GC, I hope to see him advance in the top 10 after the TT. Guessing Conci will be in yellow after the TT? Should at least be very close going into the last stage, so looking forward to seeing how it pans out!

Strong stage that from Conci who gained time on some of his rivals when you’d really expect him to lose out.
Next stage is the big opportunity to take the GC lead but he’ll need to be in good form because I’d expect a great contest between him and Bernal!
We will hope for the best!
Thank you again for the reports. Interesting tactics there, just don’t think there was enough ability to chase properly.

Wowee what a win Stunning ride from Sergio, absolutely brilliant. Obviously not expecting at all to keep yellow given the closeness of the GC and how Higuita is the worst TTist up there almost, but such a special victory on an iconic stage will be savoured for years to come. Still wish it was Habtemichael up there but you can't be too greedy
Very sorry everyone, it appears my account got hacked last night. Obviously I have always had faith in my boy Sergio to lead us here

Not smart riding by McCormcick, didn't use our depth, probably should have had another rider in the break to help Fung. And if Fung hadn't lost a lot of time yesterday he wouldn't have needed to be in the break, which was a heroic ride but probably ended up worse than if he had just stayed in the peloton.
Ahh well, tomorrow is another day.

Credit to Inkelaar for trying. Also credit to Storer and Eenkhoorn for holding on to stronger climbers on those monster climbs. Can't complain too much about their intent on this stage.
Congrats to jandal to get the win and GC lead Thanks for the reports Nemo!
