Wow, that's alot more room to work with than I expected you'd get with a rider that ridiculously priced, why do we normally only see a max of 1.4 mil wage riders out of FA then?

I think at PT you need atleast two leaders to even think about surviving. (there may be rare cases you dont).

because if you abuse only one rider the rest of the team will be terrible for PT

Because not even Bewley with a bunch of 50k can save from relegation. A super top rider might score as much as 2500 points, you would stlll another 2000 at least to survive. Try to get 2000 points with 19 50k riders

I guess it just doesn't make sense for most people, after a certain point is it really worth it from a points per wage standpoint to just have a tip top leader, maybe another 1-2 ok domestiques, 3-4 loanees and then just 50k filler?
This year in FA there was only Phinney that was a surefire one, and even by himself he couldn't break the 2k points mark last year when you need ~5k to survive, Ponzi did a bit better but a team has already tried to leave their entire fate in his hands and that didn't end well.
In the absolute best case scenario you would somehow survive relegation with that team, but is it really worth the risk?

Even so, I'm surprised I've not seen anybody try to push it to 1.7/1.8 mil, actually I don't remember any rider earning 1.6mil over the past few seasons and I'm sure you could use your loan cap and find some low wage bargains who would be solid but not spectacular scorers.
Not saying its definitely doable but that kind of price doesn't seem impossible if you play the market correctly and go into transfers with riders that would being in the kind of fees to make it doable.

Pluckhin was at 1.626k in 2017, got his team relegated because he barely made the podium in his GT.
If prime Bewley had ever gone to FA, maybe a clear record would have been set, but we will never find out

2. Bids cannot be withdrawn. If you bid on a rider and later regret it, then tough. For this reason, you are unable to edit posts or topics in the Transfers forum.
One of the big transfer rules, and it seems it's worth reiterating that just because you may actually be able to edit and/or delete your posts in transfers (buggy site functionality / the fact that more people have mod powers in MG forums to help out with things), doesn't change the fact that it is against the rules to do so.
If you accidentally make a regrettable bid, then your natural response ought to be to flag it up to me or roturn, to see what the next steps should be.
It certainly shouldn't be to cover it up, by editing it, or by deleting it and re-posting an alternative.
Re: Ciolek. I don't recall a precedent for either of the issues here, so will be discussing with roturn, and an update will be provided in the Ciolek thread in due course.

Well, for now, I've had rather good deals with him
But yeah, that's an interesting strategy. Got this one just by chance, but it's funny to watch. |

He was told he was a gooner at the second he signed a contract - But I promised him that I could find him a fitting team. Something his current manager struggled to do
Nah. Ivanov was one of 4 riders in play as the last piece in the puzzle and he was the one paying the best - so just had to wait for the deal to fall through to send him on his way. Could have been anyone of him Fabbro, van Niekerk or Barbier but people apparently doesn't want 50K talents maxing at 78MO/75HI or 73MO/77HI or 77SPR/79ACC/75FL

Just wondering, do we send our draft lists to Mangame-Admin or upload to our dropbox and then send a PM saying its uploaded?

Struggled? I sold him didn't I Cash value was never important to me, but getting in a replacement at 50k wage was. And thanks to Vliegen we made that happen
And when you tried to value Van Niekerk equal to Yates, I'm very happy with the deal!
The only deal I wasn't over the moon with was Talansky, but even then I made enough to buy two replacements on half the wage.

Hehe yeah, I just tried to roleplay a bit
van Niekerk isn't at the value of Yates, but he's 100K cheaper in wages and much younger so he isn't much behind imo. Especially looking at how good he can be before moving out of the U25 ranks

Transfers over for, not counting stagiares...
Quite happy with the overall out come which saw Nepomnyachsniy, Scarponi and Skala leaving, Kanepejs getting a loan at T-Mobile and with new riders arriving in the forms of Pronskiy, Riabushenko (both very solid talents), Krasnoperov, Tanovitchii (both returning after earlier spells at the team), Laas, Bratashcuk and Pszczolarski.
Full update will follow in my HQ shortly, either tonight or tomorrow.
