This should be good fun, I've got my rider, 2 former riders and 3 guys that have been transfer targets in various seasons to cheer for here, just a shame 3 of them landed in the same group.
Oh and is Pibernik really from Sierra Leone?

Oh Naesen has a legit chance of making it to round 2, praying the cobbles make an actual difference there
Good luck to everyone may be the best win!

Looks like Barrio shouldn't have too much problems going through, but will see how he does in the cobbles to see if he will have chances to go further in the bracket

Well, my rider is in a smaller group. Yet I don't see the way he can advance to the next round. Dieteren, Moscon & Watson have a better hill stat. And other two much better cobble stat. Easy 6th place
Good luck to all! |

Maybe create a pickup group to ensure that no good riders are left behind already in round 1?
So all losers ride in 2 pools. Winner from each qualifies.
Sorry, missed responding to this.
It's a good idea but ultimately I decided it's just too many races, at least for the inaugural edition of this, I've pushed myself to achieve too much before and it never works out, do get it would be frustrating to be kicked out in the first round, but the seasons not far away so there'll be plenty more chances to see your riders in action.
I did raise the number of riders promoting from their groups from 2 to 4 though so we weren't losing 2 thirds of participants in Round 1.

For those interested, here is how the following rounds look like, the letter refers to their group and the number refers to their final position in the group.
Round 2:
Spoiler Group I: | | Group M: | | A1 | B2 | E1 | F2 | C3 | D4 | G3 | H4 | Group J: | | Group N: | | A4 | B3 | E4 | F3 | C2 | D1 | G2 | H1 | Group K: | | Group O: | | A2 | B1 | E2 | G1 | C4 | D3 | F4 | H3 | Group L: | | Group P: | | A3 | B4 | E3 | G4 | C1 | D2 | G1 | H2 |
Knockout Rounds:
Spoiler Round of 16 | Quarter Final | Semi-Final | Grand Final | Semi-Final | Quarter Final | | I1 | | | | | | M1 | N2 | --- | | | | --- | J2 | M2 | --- | | | | --- | I2 | J1 | | --- | | --- | | N1 | K1 | | --- | | --- | | O1 | P2 | --- | | | | --- | L2 | O2 | --- | | | | --- | K2 | L1 | | | | | | P1 |
Each match is 1 vs. 1 knockout, so M1 vs. N2, M2 vs. N1, etc.
There will be a third place match alongside the Grand Final.
The tournament should begin once all the planners are in! It's looking like I'll try to use youtube videos rather than written reports too as I think that will be a more interesting format for the very short races.
EDIT: Update made to the Round of 16 format, credit to Abhishek for a fairer suggestion.

Round 1 is up! Remember the first 4 of every group go through.
Have to apologise though because unfortunately videos weren't going to happen, internet problems meant they couldn't be uploaded and they weren't very well made anyway, so resorted to ICL style results (image of the winner and results) so that we'll finish this before the season starts.
Round 2 groups will be posted soon, hopefully.

Should've sent Declerq, clearly underestimated the cobbles impact if Bagdonas can win that group...
At least we got the first failure out of the way now and can start performing in Badaling. Will obviously still follow this.

Some recompense for being the first one to being eliminated with one of the fastest times? :/
20'47" and except being 5th in my group only three riders had better time |

Seems the cobbles were a bigger influence than I thought. Should've send Vanbilsen after all.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Archimandritis faaaar behind in 3rd, but atleast he qualified from a very tough group. With some luck he can make it to round 3.

A win is a win, right? Fun to see Lagab through winning his heat. I'll take any win this season, as I don't expect many of them when the real racing starts
From round 2, is it 1 or 2 riders going through? Winsiowski and Polanc in the same group could be very interesting if it's only one rider making it through |

2 riders, so they are able to both progress.

Would have loved to start the pre-season with another result, but as it's been pointed out in the various PT previews, any lumpy surface is bound to drag us to the bottom of the classification.
Congrats to the winners and especially you trek. Nice idea and delivery!

Wow Group F with an insane sprint finish! Naesen pulling through well
And yeah cobbles seemed to have a bigger influence than expected, this can cause damage a couple of rders who went through

Van der Haar narrowly going through, hopefully saving some power for the next rounds I do like his chances in round 2, though of course very hard to predict how the race will develop.
