We are less then a week away from the release of Pro Cycling Manager 2018, and Gamesplanet have kindly provided us with a copy of the game to give away.
So, we are bringing back a popular game from the forum history: I'm With Stupid!
The premise of the game is quite simple. There are five questions to each round, and your goal is to name the most popular answer - the one that you think the most other people will name as well.
An example:
Question: Name a colour!
Answers:
9x Red
6x Blue
3x Green
1x Orange
Everyone who answered "Red" gets nine points, six points for "Blue" etc.
Note that you can give an incorrect answer as well, so you could answer that question with "Table" as well, for instance. Whether that makes sense or not is up to you, so if you think you actually are with stupid and most people will name "Table" as a colour, just go ahead!
Contest for PCM 2018
There will be three rounds of I'm With Stupid, to decide the winner of a free copy of Pro Cycling Manager 2018. The first is now open, with a deadline of Sunday evening. A second round will then run until Tuesday, and the final round will run until Thursday - release day - when the winner will be revealed.
For the first round, let's start with a topic familiar to us all.
1) Name a professional team, that is not British
2) Name a World Tour stage race (not a Grand Tour!)
3) Name a one-day race
4) Name a famous climb
5) Name a cyclist who has not won a Grand Tour
Answers should be PMed to me, SportingNonsense. Good luck!
Don't forget that winning the contest is not the only way to get the new game! You can pre-order is now, through our partner link, using the special discount code to receive a 20% discount. Using the link also helps to support PCM.daily!

39 entrants into the first round, so let's see how everybody did.
Round 1 Results
1) Name a professional team, that is not British
I imagined this could be close between Quick Step and Movistar, but that did not prove to be the case. Quick Step clearly the most popular answer with 24 selections, compared to 7 for Movistar, and a handful for other teams.
Spoiler Quick Step | 24 | Movistar | 7 | Mitchelton Scott | 3 | BMC | 2 | UAE | 1 | Team Sunweb | 1 |
2) Name a World Tour stage race (not a Grand Tour!)
France was the key here, but Paris - Nice or the Criterium du Dauphine? Well it turns out it doesn't matter which you chose, so long as you chose one of them - both scoring 15 points. No more than 2 votes each for the rest.
Spoiler Paris-Nice | 15 | Criterium du Dauphine | 15 | Tirreno-Adriatico | 2 | Vuelta a Pais Vasco | 2 | Tour de Suisse | 2 | Tour Down Under | 1 | Paris-Roubaix | 1 |
3) Name a one-day race
There are five monuments, but really only one in your eye. The most obvious answer of the round, Paris-Roubaix, with 32 points out of 38. If you didn't pick it, then I'm afraid you haven't had a good round.
Spoiler Paris-Roubaix | 32 | Ronde van Vlaanderen | 3 | Milan-San Remo | 2 | Amstel Gold Race | 1 |
4) Name a famous climb
Alpe d'Huez is the clear winner of this one, with 23 points, although Mont Ventoux did get chosen by a fair few, 9 in total. Tourmalet topping the Pyrenees votes, but only on 3, with 3 Italian votes between Stelvio and Zoncolan.
Spoiler Alpe d'Huez | 23 | Mont Ventoux | 9 | Col du Tourmalet | 3 | Passo dello Stelvio | 2 | Monte Zoncolan | 1 |
5) Name a cyclist who has not won a Grand Tour
Did you try to think of a rider who has come close to winning a Grand Tour? It looks like some did, but that meant that they missed the biggest choice. 10 different riders chosen here, more than any other question, but only one that mattered: Peter Sagan.
Spoiler Peter Sagan | 23 | Richie Porte | 3 | Mark Cavendish | 3 | Simon Yates | 2 | Esteban Chaves | 2 | Wilco Kelderman | 1 | Lance Armstrong | 1 | Roman Bardet | 1 | Odd Christian Eiking | 1 | Christophe Laporte | 1 |
Standings
After Round 1 we have 9 joint leaders 6 that went for the Paris-Nice option, and 3 for the Dauphine. 8 picked 4 of the 5 top answers, and are between 13 and 29 points off the top. Also within 30 are a couple who went for Ventoux and Pais Vasco.
But then: a last minute change. BBL enters at the last moment and returns a perfect score. His choice of stage race being key, and he went for the Dauphine! So that now has 16, and we have 4 leaders, with 6 trailing by just 1 point.

For Round 2 we go topical, and the most talked about thing on the forum right now: the World Cup.
1) Name a goalkeeper, who is at the World Cup
2) Name a player who has scored a goal in this tournament, for any nation other than Portugal
3) Name a country that did not qualify
4) Name one of the African or Asian nations competing this year
5) Name a player that has surprised a lot so far
Again around two days to enter for this, with a deadline of Tuesday evening

A huge thank you to SN for allowing me a very late submission! Guess it was worth the chance!
I was pretty confident in 2-4. Honestly I thought Dauphine would get more votes than it did, but still top answer, so I'm happy. Quickstep has been so successful this year that it made an otherwise difficult question easier. Question 5 was the trickiest. I thought for sure that people would choose a GC guy who hasn't won a GT, but unlike in the past there really wasn't an obvious answer for that, so I picked the big name instead hoping others had the same idea, and it worked out.
Now thaty my good round is out of the way, it's about to go way downhill for me.

Was a pretty easy round there imo, just Sagan I had no idea if it would work or not
BTW, love to see the obligatory Armstrong answer Roman <3

I started off well, but Alpe d'Huez and Sagan stuffed me up, honestly I never really find Sagan that memorable.

I was torn between Quickstep and Movistar, but went with the latter due to the Tour getting closer and all - turns out I was overthinking things
Not over yet though, but can't really afford any more mistakes. |
