Oh look, Aker wins a jersey.
Surprise surprise, shitty lineups score massively as long as they're sent by our direct rivals. No offense to you all, but you know what I mean.
The last stage will go to a break anyway, so the literally only good thing coming from this race will be only missing our sponsor goal by one spot.

Haga and time trials have a special place in my heart. Our first (and only in our debut season) win was from him in a time trial. The year after he won another time trial, both at 73 TT while being unmaxed. Now, at 75 TT, it's an amazing performance to finish second in a long PTHC time trial.
Gesink fully deserves this stage win and the GC lead, providing nothing happens.

Dyball did well here. Can't really complain about a (possible) Top-15 in the GC. A rather invisible outing though 
Still a pity that our breakaway festival didn't even lead to a single Top-5 result in a stage. Except of Gunman's 3rd place in the prologue, this has been yet another low scoring race for Jayco and with an even bigger disaster in East Midlands, we should drop further down the rankings. Well well... I hate this season more and more

Decent TT by Beltran considering his abilities there. And then a pretty good TT from Teuns, also being on the lucky side of the seconds, making him stay well inside the top 20, eventhough it's only a few seconds. Would be very nice if they both stay out of trouble on the final stage.
Also congratulations on the stage win, alexkr00! Definitely a great spot sending Gesink here, as the points haul he looks set to get from it should be difficult to match in similar PT races this season, even with Portugal taking 11 race days! |

Thanks, ember! I didn't pick Gesink for this race thinking he would be facing such weak opposition, but because it seemed to be race most suited to his abilities in the entire calendar and made for an obvious win goal when picking the goals.
I think he'll be getting over 400 points from this race, which is about half of what he got in the Tour, so yeah it proved to be a very good choice points wise as well. Now, let's just hope nothing bad happens in the final stage

The luck the Minions are having atm is unreal.
Unfortunate Moazemi dropped out of the top 10, but he still did quite well in the mountain stage and won a spot back in the TT, so I can't really complain. |

Feel sorry for Prio. Reis/Borges should have done much better in the team's home race.
Good news for us though. Dyball finishing with a better GC than Morton and Haig  Still not a great race with our breakaways not giving us any bigger points. Again no backup result from Lowe or Canty or Haas. Also some crashes again.
Thanks for the great reports and congrats to those who did well: eBuddy, Puma (despite some frustration, Yatesubuyan, Compal or Aker.

Good to have the riders through safe there, securing the KoM jersey for Teuns. The two stage wins and KoM win see us save something from this race, eventhough the GC was underwhelming.
All in all I suspect we should have gotten more points from here than we actually got, but still the feeling is great from the race after especially Teuns' riding and the stage wins.
Big congratulations to alexkr00 on the superb GC win, and very nice for TMM to get that stage win from Ewan, even head to head versus Demare.
Also a big thank you to AbhishekLFC with the efforts doing the reports and posting them this fast. Really love the pace of the game this season, and this only adds to that! |

Good break attempt by Veyhe, showing off his cool jersey too. one day he'll be a star at these. 
Can't fault most our team here, Domagalski, Veyhe, Nielsen and Kaspa all joined breaks and Rabottini raced well despite being unlucky with a crash, just LLS was terrible though in the end he did sneak a top 20.

Good to be done with this race. A good start with a 4th place in the prologue, but since then our only mentions have been crashes and being dropped. Aware that I don't have a great team here, but a shame to see a so passive race from our guys. Guess PCM just decided that we wouldn't be in the breaks.
Thrilling end to the stage here, and a nice victory for TMM. A small consolation price after Nelson being dropped on the last stage in Baltic.
Overall a win for Gesink, something like most expected win all season. Didn't look super-sharp in all the stages, but when your are the best everywhere, you're bound to do good in the end. Congrats to eBuddy!

Congrats on the win to eBuddy. That was a very gutsy move to put a 37RD rider to a PTHC race, instead of using Gesink in other races.
Some noting that in terms of points it was worth the risk. I'm not sure I agree, even when Gesink scoring 400 points or so from the race.
Spoiler I believe this is Robert Gesink's 2017 calender:
* GP Liechtenstein
* Tour de France
* Volta a Portugal
* Tour of Tasmania
It adds to 37 racedays.
I believe the 11 racedays would have given a better overall pointscore by using Robert Gesink in the following:
* Praha - Karlovy Vary - Praha
* Fleche Wallonne
* Liege - Bastogne - Liege
* Giro di Lombardia
7th or better in average in those races, would have seen him score higher.
It surely is a much more exciting feeling, however, to see Gesink win a race, including some stagewins rather than finishing 5-10th in the races I mentioned.
Also congratulations to Puma for getting 2nd from Herklotz. It was always the likely outcome, but you never know in races like this, how much the MO stat will influence the race. I saw riders like Beltran, Kangert and maybe even Boswell and Vakoc being riders that could (on paper) take a podium. Also a big "sorry" for Puma, as Demare and Felline was the only other riders who actually did something. Losing Bongiorno and Nerz, while also Mager could have done better hurt the overall pointscoring. So instead of the 400 or so points they ended up scoring they could have easily put 100 or maybe even 200 points on top of that, looking at the riders that was here. Quite a mistake, though, imo, to bring such as strong group of riders...
A big congrats also to our friends at Gazelle for a massive points harvest despite only bringing 2nd and 3rd tiers to the race. It certainly costed very little in terms of racedays compared to Puma.
Finally a big race for Ayubowan! aswell to keep them alive and fighting. In the other end of the spectrum things are looking grim for Jayco, Porto, Strava and Tinkoff at this time I'd say. The two latter really need to find something special to survive, while Jayco can't afford any more leaders crashing now.

@SotD, except for Praha - Karlovy Vary - Praha, I doubt would be able to finish 7th or better in those races. I think he would even struggle for top 10s.
And yes, I prefer him winning a race than doing anonymous top 10s for pretty much the same amount of points.
