It's the Monterrey TTT, the annual team time trial test for all PCT and CT teams. Well, all that showed up. 13 teams are here, so that's a minimum of 10 ranking points for all teams. Not too bad, considering most teams usually have a 0 pointer at least once during the season.
Last year Generali took out a 13 second victory on Wiesenhof, with Valio completing the podium.
Now they look to emulate Oz Cycling Project and make it 2 consecutive victories in this event. They start as favourites, but far from guaranteed winners - Grieg-Eftel with a very similar lineup here. And looking only at the best 5 riders per team, UBS and Newton Foundation also look like real contenders.
There's quite a few strong teams really. Valio, Isostar, Compal and cycleYorkshire could all go well - while Carlsberg may just be lacking the full squad depth. As well as the Yorkshiremen, 4 other CT teams complete the line up: Andorra, Garmin, Sauber and SanCor.

In the TTTs so far this season, Grieg defeated Generali in their head to head at Olympia's Tour. Generali did triumph in both South Africa and Vancouver, but lost out to UBS in Romandie. Generali do have a PTHC win to their name though, beating both Grieg and various PT teams at the Vuelta al Pais Vasco.
These are the strongest individual time triallists in attendance:
Sergent | 80 | Dillier | 80 | Paillot | 80 | Mottin | 79 | Robert | 79 | Stannard | 79 | Viviani | 79 | Dempster | 79 | Brändle | 79 | Fraile | 79 | Quaade | 78 | Li | 78 | Dennis | 78 | Tennant | 78 | Sterbini | 78 | Atkins | 78 | Sterobo | 78 | Hofer | 78 | Goncalves | 78 |
I'm not reporting this race, but that doesn't mean I can't write the preview!

The top 5 is needed here. Brändle captaining our very balanced squad. Go wild lime!

We arrive here with big hopes after the victory in Olympia's Tour. A podium surely has to be our goal. Hopefully the hills won't matter to much, given that Wisniowski is our only rider with 70+ in hills.

Thanks for taking over the preview-job, SN!
Will cheer for anyone but Generali, just to keep the record of two consecutive wins here Grieg obviously a nice pick to root for, so here I am! But seriously, hoping for those Top-4 lineups to deliver a proper result.

Not expecting anything, but we could always get lucky in such an even field.

Yeah 10th seems just about right. Thus it becomes the goal.
Nice to know there will be no 0-pointer

Gain a few points on Isostar here would be nice.
I never know what to expect out of TTTs. They can either go as predicted or throw a huge curve ball. At least we have a team that is capable of pulling a mini upset.

As CT team I loved this race due to the free points, but as PCT team with a woeful TTT setup I thought it would be better to pass this year. Good luck to all!

Huge thanks to SN for sorting out the preview for me, and my apologies for being so late with posting this.
As you may have realised I've not been around much recently - unfortunately circumstances have made me have to take a step back from Daily. I hope somewhere in the near future to be able to get caught up with the Man-Game and to be back actively reporting, but for now I'll just leave you all with this report to hopefully enjoy! |

The sky is falling...
Well I mean we sucked, but I expected that. Nobody goes home empty, so it's fine.

7th, well, as expected I guess, had hopes for a top 5 with Sergent leading the show, but I'll take it. Thank you for the nice written report jph |

Well that was great execution of the plan. Put the hammer down on the hilly part at the beginning. A shame we couldn't make it on the podium, but 4th is a nice result anyway. Great teamwork from the limes!
Congrats to matt, they may have taken a hit but the big PCT TTT is still Generalis

That was an amazing report jph! I was laughing all the time while reading thanks to your comments
I thought Isostar was going to get away with the win after the first checkpoint, but luckily for Matt's angrynees level with his team, Generali took the win

Can't be unhappy as we manage to collect some points. Got intentions to come back next season even if it's a team full of 50 TT's
Congratz Generalli! And thank you jph for the hilarious report but You're wrong the Andorran team can TTT, just not the Andorrans

Andorra could have an unbeatable squad for TTT worlds of 74-73-69-68-68-67-65-62
