Three stage races across categories in May. The HC 5 Jours de Dunkerque yielded the most points for PCT teams, while there was also the C1 Olympia's Tour and PTHC Tour of Norway.
The Berlin HC classic took place too, as well as the PTHC Scandinavian Open Road Race. A handful of points were also picked up by Spar and Kraftwerk at the C2 Euskal Bizikleta.
Isostar - Adriatic ended April with a victory, and continued their form into May, top-scoring in Dunkerque with Kump and Jans combining for a total of 362 points, This compares to the 305 for Grief-Eftel, who won the race with Wisniowski, and had Rowe doing well too. Van Asbroeck and Vanbilsen combined to earn 215 points for Lierse, while there were also 100+ point scores for Netwon, Novatek, Orange and Netia.
PT teams took away much of the points from the Scandinavian Open Road Race, with Newton Foundation as best PCT team with 83, with Van Garderen finishing 6th. Gautier as the only other PCT rider in the Top 10, as Valio scored 42 points.
Pennies available at Euskal Bizikleta as SPAR picked up 13 points and Kraftwerk 1. Eritel meanwhile had a 0 pointer at Windhoek ITT.
SPAR were more successful in Berlin, Guerao winning the sprint to get 140 points for the team. Orange came away with 112, and Fablok 109, with division leaders Newton continuing to score decent points with 82.
Ignatiev earned Ferrero - Samruk some much needed points at Olympia's Tour, as they scored 143 in total. But it was Grieg-Eftel who win the TTT, and positions 4th, 5th, 6th and 10th in GC. This saw them to a total of 250. Generali failed to match their huge haul from last season, scoring 119.
A breakaway win on the final stage gave PCT their only stage win of the Tour of Norway, but the GC painted a very different picture - 7 PCT riders in the Top 9, making this a very lucrative outing for a few teams. Most notably Eritel - Sonatrach, who had three of those riders - despite only taking a best individual stage result of 13th. 287 points scored, the 2nd best effort by a PCT team in a PTHC race all season.
Isostar secured their position as best PCT team of the month though, with Brändle finishing 2nd on GC. They scored 234 points, ahead of UBS' 221 (GC 4th) and Meiji' 196 (GC 3rd). There was also 157 points for Berg Cycles, and a much needed 111 for Ticos.

Newton Foundation have done enough to keep their PCT lead, and move away from Berg Cycles - who have dropped to 4th, but already look set to bounce back in June. It is Isostar who have returned to 2nd place this month, only 37 points behind. Grieg closely follow them, also up 4 places into 3rd.
UBS hold on to the final promotion spot, having had a better month than Fablok and Indosat. Moving up behind them are Lierse, Eritel and Orange, to complete the Top 10.
Generali and Podium Ambition each losing 3 places, as SPAR climb 4 to 12th and Meiji climb 5 to 14th. Novatek another to gain 4 places, for 18th place - while Euskaltel and Kraftwerk lose 5 places each to the end of the Top 20.
Minions remain the final safe team, on 937 points, but Valio have closed in - to now be just 14 points from safety. Falling three places, after barely racing, were MOL - OMV. And in the bottom 3 Ticos' Norway performance puts them 24th rather than bottom, ahead of Haute Route and Compal.
The PpRD values don't change the nature of the Top 5 teams - there's no question that they have been the 5 top scorers in the season to date. It does change one of the bottom 5 though. MOL have raced the least, and would be higher - at the expense of Minions. None of the bottom 5's projections would place them in the current Top 3.

Top 2 in the Teams Standings matches up to Top 2 in the Individual Standings, with Van Garderen just ahead of Kump.
There are a few new names in the Top 10, with Wisniowski, Guerao, Van Asbroeck and Holloway all moving up. Aside from Holloway, Altur was the only rider to move into the Top 20 though.
Ignatiev, Brandle, Costa and Kuboki all into the Top 50 after their scores towards the end of the month.

A couple of poor stages for us, but not really a whole lot of race days anyway lately, so I'm still not overly concerned, or at least anymore than I always have been. The next couple of updates will be much more telling.

I have the feeling that we're going to lose that bet about Isostar relegating...

Back in the top three and topping the pprd. Very encouraging, and even more to see they gap formed by the first five teams. That being said, we are facing a couple of races where we will score very poorly over the next months, so we probably need that gap too.
Thanks for the update, SN!

I knew that was a poor month for the team, didn't quite think it was less than 100points bad! Especially off a cobbles race and two Nelson outings... jesus christ... Just look at what other teams got out of Dunkerque, and we barely managed 33pts! At least the exuse for Olympia is that it had TT's which we suck at but even then we struggled... and Berlin, ugh... Horrible horrible month and our form is completely tanking...
The projection currently keeps us safe enough but based on recent form and we're rapidly going to be in real trouble... Lets just pick things up a little bit boys, bring back some of that consistency!

Still some grim reading despite of a solid month looking at the amount of points - only raises PPRD by 0,5 though so it's hardly enough to change things up. June has a lot of important races for us as well where we really need to start scoring better if we're gonna have a chance of staying up.

Thanks for the update and write up SN. I thought this would be one of our worse months, but it turned out not so bad. June should be quiet as well in terms of points, but Amador will be back for Tour de Suisse so that will be fun.

Slow month for Kraftwerk as expected, should pick up in June and July.
Thanks for the update SN.

At least we're still out of the relegation spots, but I won't sleep well at night.

A great month for us. Now keep that rhythm flowing throughout the difficult races to come, and stay up top for as long as possible!

17th for us and I think we'll be reasonably stable in this sort of region. Kwiatkowski hasn't raced in ages though, which skews our results a little as Vantomme has some... issues (although weirdly more ranking points than Mohs )
Awesome to see Isostar in 2nd, too bad they won't score another point this season.

Even then they still will miss relegation according to projected
Spoiler Obviously that's a lie to make Croatia shut up about relegation, thanks SN!

A nothing month for us, no races where we really stood a chance of scoring a great deal of points with Goss our only top rider actually racing. Here's to the next month

Didn't expect to still be leading. Happily surprised.
I doubt it will stay this way, but I'll enjoy it for now. TVG has been great this season, Altur is on the verge of becoming a cobble superstar and Maksimov... all that hilly training is finally paying off.
Five months down, five to go.

Things starting to look like they're getting back on track for us, which is promising. None of our leaders raced this month (expect Zaini if he counts) and we still scored better than most.
Doesn't look like we will be having a rider anywhere near the top of the rider rankings though

Hmm, will be really hard to relegate now, Croatia.
Also interesting to see Orange so down the table.

This has to be our highwatermark. A few quiet months coming up now where we are sure to drop and our race days are 2nd highest in the division. It's all downhill from here, but it's already halfway the season and we're a lot higher than we could've hoped for.
Looking down then, I don't see Tico's, Haute Route and Compal making it, sorry guys. The other teams still have a good shot, but we only need to keep two of them behind us.
Oh, and now even De Plus has passed Waeytens. This is getting rudiculous. Trained to 79 hill and 18 points so far.
