Despite the many bumps on the road, it would be a stretch to call this race anything other than a flat classic. The only flat classic of the month, this race gives the sprinters a rare chance to hog the limelight.
| Name | FLA | SPR | ACC | | Mohs | 75 | 83 | 82 | | Cavendish | 73 | 83 | 81 | | Kennaugh | 77 | 82 | 81 | | Maksimov | 72 | 81 | 84 | | Lo Cicero | 72 | 84 | 78 | | Holloway | 78 | 80 | 82 | | Nelson | 72 | 81 | 81 | | Itami | 75 | 80 | 82 | | Guerao | 74 | 83 | 76 | | Guillén | 67 | 81 | 82 | | Guardini | 72 | 80 | 82 | | Kump | 74 | 80 | 80 | | Appollonio | 74 | 81 | 78 | | Rowe | 78 | 79 | 80 | | Keukeleire | 72 | 80 | 79 | | Van Asbroeck | 75 | 80 | 78 | | Scully | 74 | 79 | 80 | | Matthews | 75 | 79 | 79 | | Van der Sande | 75 | 79 | 79 | | Bouhanni | 74 | 80 | 77 | | Hayakawa | 73 | 79 | 79 | | Stepniak | 72 | 79 | 79 | | Chen | 74 | 79 | 78 | | Vanoverschelde | 72 | 80 | 75 |
The usual suspects, Mohs and Cavendish, are top favourites for the win in this race. The former will be looking to make amends after not picking up any wins in the packed flat classics schedule in April.
Kennaugh and Holloway's high flat stat might give them an edge in this non pan-flat race. The Orange rider hasn't had the best of seasons so far. Holloway has been relatively better, and has picked up valuable points for his team's unlikely fight against relegation.
Lo Cicero, the fastest man in the race, and Maksimov, the quickest to reach his top speed in the startlist, will, as always be huge threats in this race. The former will be hoping to improve on 5th place that he achieved last year.
Guerao is another rider who is extremely fast on the flat stuff and should not be discounted in this race.
The depth of the field is huge, which means riders like Nelson, Itami, Guillen, Guardini, Kump, Appolonio and others, will only likely to be fighting to get into the top 5 at best. However, in such a sprint scenario, just a small turn of events here-and-there and the situation can change in a flash.
Other riders who might be able to challenge at the front are mentioned in the table above.

Got a funny feeling this will turn out just as Dutch Valley, where Mohs will be alone and without a leadout and just missing out on the podium. If not and we actually win, then I will be impressed by PCM

Can't wait to see Ricki just about get himself into the sprint but ultimately not impact a meanungful way, whilst Mitch and Souper are totally invisible and G fails to get out of bed.

Just like Dutch Valley and Scandinavia I have few expectations and my riders will make sure not to exceed them in a particularly flashy manner.

A beautiful break win just like in 2015? Nah, don't think we'll see that. Rowe as our main man again. Caldeira sprinted good in Beton, so hopefully he'll stick around this time as well.
Top 10 our goal, hopefully it will be a good day.

Surely this race is hillier? I've set a top 5 goal here
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Can't expect much in this field. Hope we get a minor placing.

Honestly I'm glad we aren't in this race, the way PCM has been treating sprint classics.
Cheering for a normal result, maybe Mohs will win? That little bump at the end might do nicely for Kump and Van Asbroek too, but maybe I'm overestimating it.
Thanks for the preview Abhishek!

Overly optimistic goal failed. On to win the Lincoln GP now.
Thanks for the report!

Not sure what Maksimov was doing to get himself boxed in, but to squeeze his way to a podium finish surely makes up for the error in judgement.
Had he just stayed in clean air though, he might have won this.
Thanks for the report.

Argh. Was about to place my bet on Guerao, but went for a breakaway win eventually
Congrats anyway! Good to see a proper sprint here. I still remember George Bennett taking the victory here in 2014 thanks for the report!

11th and 21th is pretty decent. Can't expect too much from these races, really, especially when we can't in position for shit
Congrats to Spar on the win, very good season for Gueraro so far. Same goes for Kennaugh and Maksimov, while it's yet another disappointing one for Mohs...

Nice to see Cisse shining in his loan spell at Kennaugh, leading him out to a strong result. Cavendish unlucky to end up down in 7th.

Ack, Appo went just a bit too early because he couldn't grab a train and faded hard, although that is what he has to do considering his acceleration I guess. Regardless, 6th is not a bad result here. Thanks for the report, great as always.
