First outing for Daniel, so I hope he can support Guerao well or maybe follow a move himself.

Apologies for not putting microjerseys into the report and the issue with the Valio wheels. Figured it was better to get this out on schedule rather than delay any further. Should be fixed for future reports, but was simply too late when I remembered about the issue today. |

Was hoping for a top 10 as I said. Didn't get it. Off to a bad start already. What're you gonna do I guess? :/

And so starts the fun unpredictability of following Van Heerden across the season. More likely to disappoint, but never do know when the occasional good result will come. Can't do any worse here than last year anyway, when he crashed out.
Oh.
Back-up result was better than last year, at least!

Dont worry about the wheels, thats just a minor cosmetic issue and doesn't take anything away at all imo.
As for my team, I will gladly take a 7th place, and 3 in the Top 17.

Good first showing by getting Eaton into the breakaway and Maksimov nabbing a Top 10. Shame to see crashes in the rain on the first day, looks like we had a couple helpers go down. But, glad Maksimov stayed upright.

Awesome strategy! Daniel took out two big opponents and Guerao finishes it off.

Had hoped for better from Rowe, but seeing some of the riders crashing out, I can't be too unhappy, in a race that is so.open. Great victory for Spar in the end, congrats on that. Thanks for the report, jph!

Great to see the season getting underway! But a crap way to start it for myself and a few other managers. Ill just go on assuming that Reinhardt wouldnt have contested the sprint in this field anyway

Very close sprint. Would have loved to see some sort of late action but the AI seemingly didnt want.
Quite a few teams were harmed by crashes which is of course a bit unfortunate for the season start. I feel like Guillen is the hardest hitting crash because it's one of those few races where he actually could have done well.
The most surprising name in the top 5 is imo Silvestre, starting the season for Berg in style. A first little sign of strength for the ranking battle...
I also like Vantomme and Lo Cicero with a good start for our friends at Valio and Netia and of course, congrats Bikex!
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Good to see Spar take the win! And good to see Goss finish well too.
One thing though - the jerseys used here for my team are from last season. Is that an issue on my end or a mistake?
And thanks for the report, also!

Good to see my hopes for Silvestre might be right, but most of all great start for Guerao and SPAR, congrats Bikex. Also great to see Vantomme on the podium, Goss starting nicely as well Thanks for the report jph!

Some Jerseys weren't posted at the time of starting the races.
Iirc yours will change in the middle of next event. |

Nice start for Goss, looks like he's in shape for the early Aussie events. On a minor note, it's also good to see Chris Hamilton finishing rather high around the Top-30.
Thanks for the report!

Really nice way to kick off the season for Vantomme! I got a little scared at first when I didn't see any blue jerseys, before I realised we were green now.
Looks like we won't have a train next season though, which may mean Vantomme doesn't quite perform as well but at least here he could take advantage of the Valio train.
Congrats bikex on Guereo, he's a rider I like to see winning, even (or maybe especially) if he's a fatty sprinter. Congrats on the podium as well Eden, I have a feeling Goss will be beating Vantomme like that a lot this season.
Finally thanks a lot for the excellent report jph, was quite tense in the finale.
