Very nice statistics. Unfortunately Van Poppel also read them and nearly asked for double wage this year
Yes, I tried to steal him from you and he asked you to pay him even more than my steal offer! He's a greedy bastard
Nice to see the benefit of having two unmanaged teams to save the guys who wouldn't otherwise be able to field a full squad. Also a great coup for Cool Runnings to sign Lobato for free, if I had more budget space that would have been a no-brainer.
Take it from his previous owner, Lobato is mostly a miss more than hit kind of rider

aka Theo Bos. I'm going to miss not having him around after this year, I'll have to find someone new to blame for our underachieving.

Speaking of Bos, he appears in this table, the 10 best and worst performers in 2017 earning between 400 and 495.

Ripley mate, are you waiting for ppl to have a conversation on a particular topic and then churn out related stats?
Incredible analysis already!

Surprised that Felline is actually doing so bad, where was he before? Team Alitalia? Lobato is pretty useless imo, not even Liberty Seguros is interested in him and we take basically every Spaniard.
I didn't expect Purito to lead this ranking but it shows that Rider did a good deal on him, getting him at min wage. Either way, Purito was just a legend in this game from start to finish.

Felline was at Saeco last year, not too surprised how badly he did given his stats (75 FL, 74 HI, 75 SP) and the competition he was up against.
Ah, Slagter. Proof that CT points can be converted into WT success

Amazing statistics there Ripley, really appreciate it!
But wow Puccio was by far my biggest new addition this transfer period and to see now that he performed slightly subpar last season isn't really encouraging.

@Abhishek: Pure coincidence, I promise. I had just finished that table and was ready to insert it when I noticed the name.
So, now the same table for riders with a wage of 300 to 395 and at least 24 years old. This includes 147 riders altogether, the average ratio is 0.83, the median 0.61. Lobato was pretty much in the middle with a 0.58, others did far more poorly.

Schar and Chavenal aren't that good but were there for RP purposes and also because they are really fun breakaway riders to have round.
De Gendt kinda makes up for them by being in the top 400-500 performers list.
Thanks Ripley!

Herrada mostly doing so good because of the off-season training I guess, where he went from 77 to 78 but w/o wage change of course. Who knows, maybe he'll top another list next season.

Last table for today, riders who in 2017 earned between 250 and 295 and were at least 24 years old. 124 altogether, the average ratio dropped to 0.42, the median was 0.30. Only 8 riders had a ratio over 1, so that's pretty good at this pay grade.

To finish this off, here's just a top 10 of riders earning less than 250, scoring at this level seems to be mostly based on luck (with breakaway success).
Name | DIV | AVG | Wage | Points | Points/Wage | Appleby | CT | 69.9 | 170 | 294 | 1.73 | Peng | WT | 67.5 | 120 | 176 | 1.47 | Khademi | CT | 71.7 | 210 | 276 | 1.31 | Paiani | WT | 72.7 | 240 | 263 | 1.10 | E. Jasper Bovenhuis has been one of my most reliable riders for a long time, no surprise to see him being good value for money. Hoogerland was being paid well above his minimum wage but even with a stats decline I don't expect him to be quite that bad this year.
As I said to Ripley, Peng's success was mainly a fluke but I gave him a new contract because he earned it.

If I remember right (and it's the right rider I'm thinking of ), Paiani's success was from decent placements in the top 20 area of many cobbled races, don't think he scored too many points in breaks but he's one of those guys who seems to be a little better than his stats.

So not only breakaway, thanks. I'm learning a lot about the game from the comments about riders. Now the time tralists with TTR 76+, I excluded the stage racers as well as Phinney with his strong COB and SPR. Of course, some still have better secondary stats than others.

Surprised Rodrigo is so low, surely that's the lack of potential showing now. At least he was class A dom for Contador in the Vuelta.
Virgina Chrono winner Martin clearly outscored by Malori. Shows how important the choice of races is, and maybe also how random the TTs are in general.

I'd love a statistics to the races that Fiskars dominated pointswise just because they destroyed everybody in the ITTs and TTTs in CT
