It took 17 stages, but I finally got points from all 9 of my riders. |

Good last stage for me (other than another disappointing TT for Pinot) so I'm hopeful of a top 5 to make up for my worst placing in a season and a bit in California. Definitely some good fortune in Italy.

And I started great with Pötzlberger only to sink a bit every day.
Hirt finally woke up in the last week, and even Quinzato got some points in the end.
So my 4-pointers did produce a little in the end.
Modolo was my biggest miss, and Reichenbach could have been better but was sacrificed to help Pinot on most days, so no personal shot to shine.

Obviously the target is the Grand Tour ranking after a second year in a row in the top 50 of Giro. I don't really find the best luck in Tour and Vuelta, i hope this is the year!

And here I am just happy I got my first top 20. You know, I used to be good at velogames way back. I was like top 3 in the 2014 dauphine velogames out of everyone, and I did well in the 2012 Giro too. But the last couple of years I've just been absolute crap.

It's cool. HUGE score though
3rd place in the Giro last year, 2nd place this year. This race has always given me a lot of points

League Table has been updated.
Congrats to the two winners. Both winners scored bonus points.
Purepasd briefly took over the overall lead by 1 point following California but then the Giro happened and Ian Russell has re-established a 43 point lead at the top. Still plenty of races left so plenty of points to play for. If the same races take place this year as last year we are at the halfway stage of the competition.
Cheers

What a pity that I can't seem to score in the games that really count Spring Classics and Giro.. Praying for Le Tour.

The bonus points are scored by finishing in the top 100 overall in the velogames league, so Emre's late inclusion in the league didn't affect any bonus points for you.
I can imagine it was a bit of a kick in the balls though
2nd place at the Giro is still a good points haul for you. I fell just outside the top 25. That motorbike killed my race, and I'm guessing many other's races. Thomas and Yates could have both finished in the top 5 or 10 without the crash.

In that case, very well done Emre . Must read the rules more carefully!

Impossible to score points when Kruijswijk drops out, Dennis also, Kangert also. Yates being unlucky and losing time. Modolo being sick and dropping out. Konrad who was sick at the start of the Giro etc.
Grats to the winner! Dumoulin is a fucking hero by the way |

Nice enough - got a good step up the table, even with Thomas and Kangert out.

Just realised that I didn't give Emre the correct bonus points. I only gave him the bonus points for a 25 point game when the Giro is double points. I've added his points to my spread sheet but haven't updated the league table yet. The points will be included when I update it next time.
Cheers.

That's some bad luck right there
I was looking forward to seeing what Dennis could do, Kangert was going increasingly well and I feel your pain with Yates being in my team too (though it could've been a lot worse). I toyed with Kruijswijk myself but had that nagging doubt after the ToB crash - why pull him from the race if he wasn't that badly injured?
The sprinter choice was to have Gaviria or take a 500 point hit on the next best (Greipel, who I went for as the safer choice, especially with the full on Lotto leadout train he had here - not sure what happened there but solid points if unspectacular). I would've had Modolo myself if I could fit him in, as he had a good spring and was climbing better than ever - in the end he was outscored by team mate Ferrari :/
My big disappointment was Foliforov who I was hoping would be thereabouts for a few stages in weeks 2 and 3. In the end he made just one decisive breakaway and failed to make the selection even then.

Congrats Abhisthek/Emre!
With a bad Nizzolo, no Dennis and Foliforov doing nothing my team was out of it very quickly
