Decided now was the right time to start this thread, as some interesting news came by: Coquard will leave Direct Energie at the end of the season. I'm wondering where he'll end up. My first guess for some reason is Cannondale.

wow Bryan the question will be whether he wants a guaranteed leader role or not...some strange thoughts in me say that Movistar could be a real option, as in all those one-day races where Coquard could be amazing he would be the leader for sure...
In other terms BMC could be a plan, or Astana...

In the end he will go to Sky to help Froome win the Tour.

Marca has linked Landa to a move back to Astana:

And Bouhanni will go to Movistar as Quintana's lieutenant because that's a thing that happens normally in cycling.
Wouldn't mind Landa back at Astana, have loved him again this Giro in a more free role and could find his feet and do a GC again after some hard luck. Coquard to Movistar would be quite good, would love him under tutelage of Rojas and about time he would go to WT. Could be nice for him to have some support though, but I guess he seems fine in that cheeky train hopper role.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

wont be bad one. Because Astana really needs a leader...and Landa has more potential then Aru (of corse Aru is italian that makes difference on this team).
But sadly I am sure that Landa will extend with Sky |

Wouldn't be too sad if he stays with Sky. He's definitely proven himself this year and i expect the management will continue to give him opportunities in the Giro or Vuelta if he keeps pushing forwards from here.

I mean, he was supposed to be Thomas' domestique in the Giro and got 'lucky' that they both hit that moto, otherwise we would have just seen him doing regular domestique stuff throughout 3 weeks.
Honestly, not much will change if he moves to Astana, with Aru and Lopez he's bound to rarely ever be the sole leader and have the entire team focus on him. I'd love to see him move to a smaller WT team.

But without Thomas he has shown his legs again that were missing last season. It's not a case of "what if", Landa has been impressive in this 3rd week. Sky can always put him into the TDF-train but he is showing the skill that can get him a free-role in the Giro (once Geraint finally realises he's not a GT rider, goddamn it G don't be a fool any longer!).
Let's move Landa to BMC or Cannondale. Certainly could follow the TVG or Rolland example and do f*ck all for the next 5 years

Tom Dumoulin will re-sign his contract with Team Sunweb until 2021. Right now, his contract ends in 2018

Has anyone heard about this one?
Could Alexander Kristoff be heading to Astana for 2018?

Aru is nearly podium candidate GT rider. Lopez don't have any GT results..what are we talking about? |

looks strange...Kristoff seems to be strongly linked within the Katusha-Alpecin team and also pairs up perfectly with Tony - they have a very good chemistry in their classics team with loads of potential, which is why I'd really be surprised to see Kristoff giving that up for Astana...

As long as Tony stays at Katusha I am fine with it. It took me long enough to get used to this.

Not sure that Landa has really more potential then Aru, he is one year older, and a bit weaker in TT skills. And Aru has already a GT in his records
