Good for Bora. He did a lot of work for Sagan in Classics and deserves this success. |

Wow, amazing ride by Pöstlberger, used the kinda technical last kilometer and the lack of helpers perfectly.

Indeed these technical corners messed up classic sprint.
Nothing bad there. Hugh crashes avoided. |

What a start for Bora Hansgrohe, with no Peter Sagan in the line-up.
ALL jerseys on the first day.... amazing.
How will the DS handle this ??

NOOOOOOOOOOO!
Ewan was the fastest by more than a bike length, but Edmonson was the only one left with 1.5km and no-one helped. Postlberger made a smart move which was in first for Bennett to lead-out, but soon got away. He rode away with great strength and even with a great sprint by Caleb had enough to celebrate 30m before hitting the line. Magnificent win, but I am disappointed with the other lead-out trains especially ettix who were touted to be the best with richeze and gaviria, but the technical finish got them. DAMN IT! |

That might be one of the most fricking impressive flat stage wins I've ever seen. He just rode them off his wheel and kept going into a headwind. What a boss. Awesome finale.

5th in E3, you need a big engine for that. If he keeps developing, Sagan will finaly have a useful teammate next year.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Really impressive from Pöstlberger. When he got that first small gap after the turn I thought nothing off it but he maintainted that gap and after the next turn(s) he went full gas and I though that while it was ballsy, it was futile but damn...
A bit sad for old man Greipel but..
All in all a dramatic Giro kick off.
Late attack with a suprise winner. First time loses. Good start.
On a Ralph Denk bashing side note: Pöstlberger a young man from their own ranks not some team within the team tinkoff rider or some washed up British Postal guy. |

Is Astana going on the attack today, maybe a Jesper Hansen stage? |
