Did that really happen?
I feel like something still must happen that will threaten Herklotz, but it actually looks like this crazy guy will take the GC here plus one or two jerseys on the way. I won't celebrate before there has been a -5-free TT and a crash-free final stage though.
Congratulations to Porto on the stage win that was the least they could've expected from this race, I really don't know how Reis didn't get a gap on this stage...the flat finish really played into our cards. Kinda like irl when the chasers can see the lead at the very end.

another great stage for us in terms of GC-battle! podium looks pretty much sealed now with 3 mins to Neppo and those guys (I hope) so even with the PT-domination here this race will be a success!
Congratz to prio for the stage win atleast and the very likely podium spot!
also big congratz to Puma for the likely first big win from the wonderboy

Great stage, gratz Gustavosky.
Would've been really nice to join the break, it's a disappointingly low number we're in given we've got no contenders for anything. Quite proud of Rabottini, at least given he's had a good performance, hope he can hold the top 20.
One more stage win chance, Sobota could have a shot but he's not really a winner and PCM will take Morkov anyway, so not optimistic.
Thanks Roturn!

Good rides for Nepomnyachsniy the past 2 stages, 4th in the GC should at least be safe now, and more will be tough, however looking at last year's gaps in the TT, which are completely irrelevant, winning the GC is still possible. Main goal is winning that TT though, and that in itself should be possible.
Also good to see Kononenko being strong and useful

Interesting day for us, good news - bad news kind. The Bad is obviously Beltran crashing and not being able to contest the stage at all, however the good news it the way KoM points ended up going it means Pulido has won that competition and will get us all the points for it, and might save us from relegation.

What a ride by Nepomnyachsniy! Congratulations, fjhoekie. Had hopes pre-stage that Stake Laengen could fight for a top three and maybe even the win, and I'm very happy to see him go second when Nepomnyachsniy seemed unbeatable.
Nesset with the very expected drop, and assuming everyone survives the final stage without major crashes and splits, it's been a great race for us, teamwise. Looking forward to the final stage and get the GC confirmed. |

Simple repeat of last year, this race honestly is made for Nepomnyachsniy, and it's a massive shame we lost so much time on stage 4 (2'52'' to Herklotz, 1'58'' to Reis), making us miss our goal, and even the podium by just a few seconds. So very much mixed thoughts with this, in itself, excellent result for the Kazakh.
Topchanyuk quite disappointing in the GC, Prevar surprisingly good.

A non-stage for us, as every time trial is of course, but it's interedting to see so many points going to PT teams.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Ouch it must suck to lose the podium by 2 seconds and the 2nd place by 7, let alone the GC by just 33 after one weird off stage.
Congrats to both cio and fjh and thanks for the tireless work, roturn!

Hui what a TT to mix it up. Reis really with a strong last surge for the top step. Gratz to Puma and the (likely) runner ups!

Good effort from Reis, but superb from Nepom. It's a shame indeed for the kazakh. In hindsight I also feel that had that 30'' gap lasted in the final km of last stage Reis would've taken the race. Anyway, Herklotz is kind of a freak winner, but this randomness is part of the game so it's all cool.
Congratulations on this victory fj and see you all in the final stage!

Time-trial day didn't change anything for us, which is good since we are awful at this discipline. Hoping for a smooth day tomorrow to finish off this race collect some nice looking points for the GC from Beltran, Chaves, Pulido and even Osorio (current would add up to 89 points total). Add another 25 from Pulido for the KoM win and a handful for leading the race in that category and you probably get a PPRD total over our average which is terrific for any squad we send that doesn't include Summerhill and Cobbles.

Feeling kind of sorry for the PCT teams missing out because of me...
Still one stage to survive though.

Congratz fj. Slagter kept the podium!! So happy about that, eventhough he was close super close to 2nd in the end. The ending TT just proves that with some better luck in this race slagter could even have won it aswell, which is great to see.
Now for an accident free last race.

Nice one by Lane in the mountains, without the need to protect a leader it was the best idea to join an attack.
Aregger seemingly recovered well from his crash and is ready to win the final stage. His name is written all over it!!!
Don't dare to give it to the breakaway!!!!!

That was intense! When looking at the picture where Nordhaug attacked, I was pretty sure it was just a show off, as the peloton seemed so close, but what a heroic effort by him. Must admit the sprint finish was kind of heartbreaking. I actually thought he had it when reading Gilbert had to sit down, not able to pass.
It would have been awesome to see him win, as he has a special place in the team after being the first Norwegian rider to win for us, back in 2012. Nevertheless, second place is also cool, eventhough the win would have been very sweet. Very nice to see Hoelgaard with a fast finish as well, giving us a great final stage to a nice race.
And thank you for another top notch report, roturn.
Looking at the team effort here, I'm very happy with 6th, 9th, 11th and 12th in the GC and also a clear win in the teams classification. Add some good stage placings, and it has been a very profitable race points wise as well. Though, most important it has been a great race to follow, and just very nice to see my Norwegians fight for good placings.
Big congratulations to cio93. A Herklotz overall win was definitely not something I expected pre-race, but his attack on the hills proved decisive in the end. Also congratulations to the other podium teams, but also to CountArach for Kruijswijk's efforts. Think you forgot Bpost when summing up the "big PT winners" here, roturn |

Funny thing was, when making the screenshots in the 3D race, it didn`t happen, but in the replay then, Nordhaug made the celebration as also one of your team mates in later position, Dyrnes or Nesset.
Didn`t know the replay can have different animations then the 3D race itself and unfortunately missed to make a screenshot of it then.
Puma with an incredible 363 points here followed by Aker`s 301 and Bpost at 227. Not too bad for a HC event. |
