That was a lot less comfotable than Stage 1. Break got caught, but it was looking dicey for a bit there. That's what happens when the leading team has 2 climbers in a team of 6...
Ewan with the early work to keep us at the front. Slightly unfortunate the competition train dissapeared, brought more guys to our wheel as a result. And in races like this you want that wheel on the lead-out more than anything else.
But when it came to crunch time Ricki held it together. Boy was he pushed close though. But a Win is a Win and a big one for the race. With position swapping behind that 25" lead is a healthy one.
However, one bad day and it's gone. And because we've only got 6 riders, one of whom is Ricki and 2 of whom are climbers a break is a big worry.
Anway, two wins = good gif time

Good to see Moscon trying something in this pure xp race. Would be nice if we get more of that tomorrrow.

Sick 34th place by Docker. Worth every penny and every stat point. I'm really seeing the 79 sprint shine through.

Stunning ride by Razzie with the top 20. Docker did a great sprint too for 24th. I couldn't be happier.

I said one day can change things. Ricki holding in there for now which is all we need in these final stages.

Okay, Drapac, Manarelli, Avila, you guys need to improve in the next two stages. C'mon, it's possible if you go for it...

That stage in three easy gifs:
1 - Threats got dropped
2 - Nelson way behind doing nothing, going to lose the race
3 - Somehow survive and look ok to win the race

Another Top 5 and moves Krieger to 4th on GC! Very happy despite the lack of a stage win, but the white jersey gives us some more valuable points
Thanks for all the reports jph

FIRST GC WIN!!!!!!! FIRST GC WIN!!!!!!
Nelson was intent on giving me a heart attack, for the second day in a row. But we should know by now that getting gaps on stages like this is damn near impossible in PCM (luckily!).
Ricki rode a solid race. 2 wins is handy, and more than anyone else. Two more top10 finishes, solid. Held his GC lead, although no entirely through his own actions. But he got the job done and wins the GC. And holds the Points as well for a really nice little bonus.
Great stuff. Thanks to the other sprinters for beating each other and keeping him out front!
Did show our lack of team though. 6 riders including 2 climbers didn't exactly help at the end there. But Soupe and Ewan did decently in the lead-outs, and i'm sure Julian, Boris and Robov did their parts through the days.
2 Stage Wins. GC Win. Points Win. YYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSS
gif celebration time!
(but lets not go overboard on them, got a lot of races still to go this year...)
