Disappointing stage four. Had hoped for some Latvian magic but it had to be expected that the stage might be a bit too hard.
Don't like to see Smirnovs crash on the fifth stage but let's hope he's not injured. And well Bogdanovics as well ofc but he is only here for the xp and I don't even have hopes to see any output from him.
Very interesting finish on stage 5. Rather chaotic but I like that the break gets rewarded somehow by getting some nice points for the break without taking home the big win.
A Big Thank You To All MG Reporters!

Always depends when I think about posting in the morning and if I am at home in the evening.
Slow down roturn! The reports are very good, so even one stage in 36/48h is more than enough I am reading some stages twice and it still is fun.

Calm stage for us (beforer the storm i guess), but oh boy, those favourites crashes hurt me every time i see them, at least nobody lost time.
Congrats ember, SHE is great for you this year, very cool rider to have and you plan him nicely.
Thanks roturn! Looking forward to the next stage, i hope it is as tough as the 4th one...

To be honest, i am surprised he have not pushed one of them ladies into the DB already.
And damn those norwegians and their long names, then you have to use SHE.

Great sprint by Coquard. So sad he couldn't overtake Enger in the end, but still a great effort. I feared he would fuck up again after going into the wind so soon, but luckily he was smarter this time around. Second is definately good...
The crashes hit us hard, though. Clement Koretzky hit the deck for the second time, and we can probably shoot an arrow at his chances to perform on the hills. Also my best climbing domestique, 22nd GC Giro, Piter Campero. Both got back, so nothing in terms of lost time, but I really hope they are not injured already. 5 Stages into the race and we have already had 4 crashes.

It started pretty well with two third places, Kennaugh and Kreder, and even something looking like a sprint train being set up by the boys in Orange - and then the team has collapsed, yet again.
Quintana losing more than four minutes in the ITT, then another minute during the first hilly test - followed by Kennaugh's complete absense from the sprint on the 5th stage. Ouch...
Still a long way to go, but it's tough times for this team.
Minor note, Roturn: It seems you're (often) using the wrong mini shirt for Kennaugh |

Great reporting so far roturn! Very entertaining from a neutral POV, just like the Giro.
Two of our loanees are in the race, with both riding excellently!! Barbari takes 5th on the last stage, and Haddi doing a great job in the lead-outs for Greig

Good few days, with presence in the breaks through Mountains leader Seibeb and the unlucky Barbari almost grabbing the win. |

Really looking forward to how this Vuelta will play out. Don't think that the Mountain ITT will change the General Rankings much and with that in mind; we still have (4 flat) 5 hilly and 6 mountain stages ahead of us! I already predicted a good time trial for Gesink and I'm starting to believe he actually has a change of winning this, but maybe that is just because I really want to see a good fight between the top favourites in this Grand Tour.

Our first 5 stages of the Vuelta in one word: apathy.
No breakaways/attacks, no top 10's, no mountain points. Only crashes and possible injuries for Konrad and Hofland. Hope we turn this around soon!
Great sprint by HE; congrats ember! And good job on the reporting front roturn.

loving the Vuelta so far! Could become a very interesting battle in the mountains for Pluchkin to pull Gesink back...

Wow. Dream scenario, with 4 minutes advantage over Pluchkin after 2 hilly stages and the time - trial. Let's see how much of that time Pluchkin will be able to get back in the next stage. Gesink seems to have secured the red jersey for at least 5 more days at the very least.
Brambilla seems to be having a good race as well, and with some help from Sinkeldam we also extend the lead in the teams classification.
Down side of the day: Gesink didn't get the green jersey back

Congratz alex! Great to see Gesink using his advantages
Wouldnt count out Pliuchkin anyhow yet though, remember how he was on the defensive versus Phinney some years back, then crushed him in the mountains.. Still then Phinney had only 82 mt (I think) and a much worse hillstat, so all wide open!
Gotta feel for some of the unlucky managers now, especially beagle cant seem to catch a break now
