Nice.
I guess that's the sacrifice for having Ciolek actually perform.

This was clearly the best day for a victory for Roman! California won't hurt too much after this now. Congrats!

Looking good, Danny
I guess this was the last time we will see him in this Giro. Still, 2 podiums is very good.
Hopefully Brambilla isn't injured.

Another crash victim... Having 4 riders already abandoning the race I feel like it must be my turn to stay clear of bad luck in this race. Novak and Campero please stay out of trouble. Now Novak have been down - Please no injury!

5th for Groenewegen is a nice result in a GT. Next year he will come back stronger and fight for wins hopefully.
Olivier crashing (on a bad day in general) is not ideal. Hopefully more a shock only as I hope to climb into top15 still.
And just only now realized that De Bie abandoned on day 12. Shame as I was hoping for the final 2 hill stages. So with only 4 riders left, Villella is the key rider for those stages then. He had proven to be capable of performing on that terrain and the puncheur field isn`t that impressive here. |

When your sprinter shows up in the train picture and finishes outside the Top-20...

Ah, that was close. A pity that we messed up the train, think Guarnieri would have win it if not. Our Giro is as good as over now, just waiting for some more attacks from Juul-Jensen. Have to say I'm happy with two stage wins and three podiums on the flat stages.
Congrats to Roman on todays win though. Another great sprint from Howard.

Finally Howard gets it, very happy for Roman because it makes up for the shitstorm that was the last stage of Cali.
Edit it was meant to be shitshow, but I'm keeping it considering how California panned out

Holst Enger's crash rate is starting to become ridiculous
Congratulations on a well deserved win, Roman! Unfortunate for Grieg-Eftel that they messed up their leadout ever so slightly, but that's part of the lottery. Van Stayen with no points could mean trouble considering the points jersey, which looks wide open.
And thank you for the report, sgdanny, covering the crashes and sprint well. |

What a decision to read the report from today's Giro stage later than the report from California!
Firstly, finally something from König, unfortunetely a crash though. Hopefully he is not injured and it gives him some rage for an attack in mountains.
And secondly and more importantly - this is exactly what I want to see from my team as we are strong in sprint department. Even through it is always a little bit of lottery, my team did some decent job this day. Eugert Zhupa confirmed he is much more than only a cobble helper and he should defintely have some future as a part of my lead-out team, great to see him helping my team already this (developmental) year. Also nice to see Westley Gough confirming my thinking about him as he is a valuable rider - decent TT and in this case more importantly a really decent lead-out man. And Leigh Howard is finally doing his job like he should, being a leader of my team and getting results out of it. Too bad I have decided to use him as a helper for Bewley in some races instead of sending him to Vuelta as well.
And thanks for another great report, sgdanny!

Wow Boonratanathanakorn getting on the stage podium twice in a row, once in the mountains and once on the flat. That really shows what a versatile rider he is. We're getting closer to our first win of the season. |

We really should start introducing the King of the Crash award, especially during GT's, 1pt each crash

I hope stage 21 goes to the break, else we lost a sure Top 3 there by the Demare crash and DNF.
Isn't it ironic that the sprinter who should get through a GT best is the one who doesn't make it to the end?
To obtain, something of equal value must be lost.
The gain here being a great ride by Nerz who would be in the Top 10 by now if not for the fact that Bongiorno feels like the only 79mo rider to be ignored by the game AI, while Brambilla and Olivier get these RIDICULOUS free tickets to the front row.
Congrats to roturn, I like you, but you're getting greedy after the Villela surprise.
Fun fact, we're down to 4 riders now. SotD, I feel you.

Shame Kwiatkowski lost some time on those around him and drops out of the top 10. At least we still have 3 hilly days he can make valuable time gains.
Congrats roturn on the win, a great ride from Oliver there. |
