The longest CT tour is back once again. And with terrain varying from pan-flat stages, to lumpy stages, to some of the longest mountain top finishes you will see anywhere in the MG, there is plenty for all tastes.
Stage Hunters:
| Flat | Hill | Sprint | Acceleration | Favilli | 71 | 75 | 76 | 74 | Geschke | 71 | 74 | 76 | 76 | Gaimon | 71 | 75 | 67 | 74 | Michely | 68 | 75 | 67 | 75 |
We start the race with three lumpy stages, which may be very hard to call. Will the GC men start attacking right from the go? If it all stays together the above have as good a chance of any of taking a win, particularly Geschke who has already won this season.
For the long TT, breakaways and the like surely the following will figure: Tennant, Robert, Steensen, Bontenackels, Barton and Weiss.
In short with just 13 teams on the startlist, many of the teams present will be hoping the decision to race here comes off with a host of points and/or victories!
+ Kedir Seid, Elias Abou Rachid, Chan Jae Jang & Jakhongir Darmonov
It is that time again. What time? Time for the Tour of the Middle East!

GO ANTON!
First big race for our #meninlime. Hoping for a Top 3 in the GC and a stage win maybe from Tennant.

I can see Zoidl gaining big time in that TT if he is still in the GC fight by that point. I'm not sure if him or Kung will be my leader though as Kung is stronger on the Mountains and Hills but Zoidl should have a big advantage over him in the TT.
I'm guessing it will kinda depend on how they do in the opening stages, I just hope they won't swap leadership and take each other out of the GC fight.

Cant wait to see what Anton will do here. After a hard year from him in PCT he really has every chance to shine here!
Guillen also with great chances here. Shouldnt take long before he gets his next victory again after a dissapointing run in PCT.
Big fan of this race. So expecting some interesting racing here yet again.

Looking forward to see how Docker (and Steensen) will do here. Him and Rasmussen looks like a great duo, if they can work together.
Going to be a very interesting to follow the GC battle. De La Cruz my favourite here.

New terrain for us, instead of stage hunting in ToA, battling for victory in ToME.
First three stages are made for a Weiss breakaway victory, given there's no strong puncheurs presence that might well be possible. Drapac for the sprints if he manages to survive the mountains, else we have Avila as back-up and leadout. Martinez is not the best climber here but with his decent time trial and all-round abilities he might be able to get into the top 5, which is the goal!

Excited for this one Hoping Clarkey can be better than in Benelux and our stage racing duo (no Hirschlein mention ) can make a good leading debut. And of course the ultimate stage race domestique MTK should be of use every day Meanwhile two neo-pros in Schleck and Jammy N should be useful.

De la Cruz to shine here? Don't particularly agree with bbls choice of taking Garby here as he's not that much of a better climber than anyone else (if he is actually better than Anton) but hopefully for him it pays off. Don't see him beating DLC or Anton though. Thanks for covering this TR!

I'm not gonna lie, we're sending our talents here to get some cheap XP. ANY point we take home from here would be a giant bonus!
Thanks for a well written preview The Rider! (Any idea why those mentioned Compal-riders didn't make the first screen? I presume it's a screenshot taken towards the end and that they have abandoned? Hope it's another explanation though ) |

Löbau sent someone for every terrain. De Clercq for the GC, Vanderaerden for sprints and Geschke for stages. I hope for at least one stage win and a top 10 in the GC.

I've thrown the book at this one and I hope for something big to kickstart my season here as things havent gone well so far.
Tvetcov should be good for a top 5, and Rowe or Robert may take a stage so things are looking good!

That's a pretty stacked startlist for a race like this. Surely it's De La Cruz's to lose. Who knows though. I mean, Signorini finished second here last year

All I want is just one stage, one victory, one triumph. Is that really so difficult?

I am bringing here some of my best riders... Both Khripta and De Marchi must get a Top 10 (one of them at least) or even a Top 5, and also Nizzolo should try to get a stage and start making his wage worthy

- Bjartne - No, no! They are all there, just got squeezed off that image. No big deal though! |

De la Cruz seems a good contender here given his base strength of both Mo, Hill and TT. |

Don't know why I wouldn't bring him here. Not like there are that many mountain races in CT and I needed to use up his race days with races that would at least suit him. And that's considering I selected every mountain race in CT. With his his it doesn't make sense to send him to medium mountain tours with perhaps less competition. His hill would just take him out of those. Bottomline- I sent him to every other mountain race I'm in and still had leftovers so I sent him.
Well, my goal is a top 5 and I think Garby is capable though the competition is tough. Certainly has less of a chance than one would have assumed preseason. Razzie has always been great in this race so hopefully he can be a good leadout for Docker. And Steensen will hopefully feature in the TT.
I'm very excited for this race as I have a leader for each discipline, but with the way the season has gone thus far, I'm not particularly optimistic.

Kraftwerk don't have a contender here so hoping to get a few points from top 10 finishes.
I will be supporting the Tykes and hope that Tvetcov can do really well for ryant.
Thanks to The Rider for the preview.
