Terpstra wins ahead of Van Aert in what can best be described as a mix between RvV and urban cyclocross. More of this! |

Volta a Portugal neutralised today.
The peloton made a wrong turn and went lost for a few kms. The front group was stopped and made to wait for the pack. The race was then restarted with the front group being awarded the 6'40 of leeway they had previously.

The moment when the motorcycle chaperone realises what Vigano was asking for and runs away from him... that was a good laugh

A very good sign ahead of la Vuelta and certainly it's good for his confidence too.

Really good stage in Utah today. Talansky wins the stage and takes yellow from Morton in front of Atapuma. Another crazy impressive performance by Adrien Costa; he finished 3rd.

Contador looked very troubling, he still has ways to go. Seemed to be really hurting today.
Sergio Pardilla was pretty good. Cobo v.2.0? |

Rui Pedro Vinhas takes Volta a Portugal, after being 4th in today's TT. A Sastre-like stunt for a pure climber as he is.
W52 - FC Porto also gets 3 riders in the top 4 of the GC! Today they took 4 in the top 5 of the stage!

Just dominating, I don't get it why Porto isn't PCT, they are much more better than Team Roth.

its the second year i watch this and its very fun. its like cycling in the 1990s
everyone sprinting up mountains. sprinters turning into climbers. riders finishing 50th for one team then 4th for another.
it's like a circus. definitely one of the most fun races to watch all year. |

Because outside of Portugal - i.e. in countries with proper doping controls - they achieve absolutely nothing of note. The Volta provides great entertainment, but clean riders tend to be nowhere to be seen in the top positions. |

not all the races just this one
in the other races like algarve its the good riders like antunes doing well
but in this one race they have no chance |

Once again in Utah Tlansky shows he can't find any consistency. he slips to 3rd on the final stage and Morton takes the GC.
Costa in 2nd. Absolutely stunned with this kid's performance. He seems to have great climbing ability, fight, a nice kick and good sense of tactics at only 18. And apparently he can TT too! Really excited to see him moving forward. This was the kind of performance that made me impressed with guys like Dombro and Craddock, but when they were already 21 or 22 years old!

Surely it's just common sense to look for more funding following an extremely successful home tour. Whether they're actually serious about trying to become a PCT team or not is hard to say at this early stage.
