Intense racing there.
Goodnews still going strong. So is Mygind. Two riders I never heard about before.
Must be a pain to report this race with so many "unknown" names and then no clear favourites. Last year when I did it, it was easier I think with the same riders being strong any day such as Molard, Kinney, Vastaranta?, De Maar. |

ffs sums this up perfectly. Still three threats for top 10 but not good.
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Thought we would atleast get something good out of this race, but it doesn't look like Karwowski got any points anyway... I would've thought that winning 4 out 8 KOM's on the stage would've atleast got you into top 10, but it might just be a typo from trekbmc.
Sorry, some confusingly bad grammar there from me meant to say that he won the first of the last 4 KOM sprints, fixed it in the report now.
Oh that's alright, he is shit anyway so didn't expect anything

I just caught up my delay on this race Ma has been so close on the prologue, I'm really sad he fell hard the next day Fonseca and Bru are dissapointing for the moment, but Foliforov deserves my congratulations for his breakaways

Are you saying this isn't quality racing?
I agree it's more frustrating for the managers with a plan.
For an objective outsider, though, it's cool |

Hugentobler definitely had the right idea, shame he didn't gain more time but he has jumped up to 3rd in GC and now has the Youth Jersey so this is looking like it will turn into a nice scorer for us after all after doing nothing but unsuccessful breaks the first 3 days.
And as Cristobal showed he isn't a bad puncher and can keep up with the best if he has a good day so hopefully his high GC placing and Youth Jersey will both mean he's contesting tomorrow and won't lose too much time or too many places.
So yeah, he did gain more than just a 3rd place thanks to his attack

Good job Marek, knew you had a great win in you! Excited for the final day in the hills, can Marek pull off the miracle? |

A good stage at last. Nice to see Bazzana join the break, he'll hopefully do it much more later on in the season. Good job from him securing the KoM jersey but that most likely meant he did not have enough left for the sprint. Still a good result.
Also surprised that Navardauskas managed to hang on to his top 10 with only 58 cobble. Hopefully the hills can create some gaps and he moves up a couple places.

So much going on in this stage with wind on top of cobbles and hills providing a savage test for all involved. Congrats to Schuh on Konwa's victory, but relieved to hold onto the lead, even if by only one second. Thankfully Baeckert seems to have recovered after a day or two of suffering, and Bush did what he could early doors. Really need Naesen to make a similar recovery if WCC to have any chance of controlling the break in stage 5 (massive effort by him to make it through the stage today on more or less just one leg) .
The 'headline' puncheurs are all 3+ minutes down overall - will it be enough for CLifford and Konwa? Maybe one of them will continue to carry good fortune, but Hugentobler and Bille with only around a minute to make up look most dangerous now - Hugentobler probably favourite for overall as long as the likes of Klemme and Diggle don't end up in the BotD on stage 5. Think those 30 seconds Hugentobler saved by effort late in the stage today may well have seeled it for him in terms of limiting losses, and opening bigger buffer on the lead puncheurs. Big unknown is the weather, more wind and/or rain could well turn the overall upside down. Still got fingers crossed that Clifford does not completely collapse, podium or top 5 on final GC would be Goodnews indeed!
P.S. Great report by the way, with so much going on deserved the in-depth detail provided!

I expected much worse from that stage - Bille managed to stay in Top 5 GC and another good finish from Ngandamba. My goal of Lincoln GP might not be too far off with him performing like this.
All in for the final stages over the hills and we will be able to see where Bille is at after that. Looking to Krieger for the sprint stage so fingers crossed with that
Congrats again to martii on another victory in the MG

I don't know how Mygind is still fricking in top ten but I guess that's something that could be salvaged. Don't know how De Maar escaped today, but as I had already given up on him I can't be too mad.
Crappy race for the team but alas there's nothing that could be done. However, this could be a very bad side in races to come. Do to Mygind's inferiority to De Maar in pretty much every stat but prologue, I penciled him in to be a domestique in most of De Maar's races. Now I could pay the price. Thanks PCM.

Only quality thing about the race is the reporting of trekbmc. AI is behaving weird and crashes turn it into a lottery. It's exciting in some way I guess but this is a tad too much.

Congrats to Martii, a nice win for Schuh.
Crazy stage in the wind. With only 1 second in GC and some puncheurs not far behind the next stage should be exciting.
Park is on great form for us and sadly it would appear Klemme has decided to be his leadout man so not expecting much from Klemme next stage, but you never know with this AI
Another great report from trekbmc

And again Konwa loses out on a tiny gap, but well done to Hugentobler, he should win although Marek is in the perfect position should something go wrong.
Congrats to De Marchi as well for winning the exciting stage. |

Another action-packed stage. Clifford succumbed to intense pressure as expected, and the podium and then top 5 slipped from his grasp as he grovelled up the finish climb @ La Redoute. His team-mates did what they could through the day, but still too many walking-wounded to be totally effective. Nonetheless, if he can hang onto 6th place tomorrow, this would still be an excellent showing.
I selected Benelux as win goal in large part because it is one of the few CT races where the mixed route suits riders who would still be hanging around unsigned mid-way through transfers rather than needing a 'hitter' to ensure a result. The crashes have exacerbated the situation this year, but is generally quite an odd mixed-up GC suiting attacking all-rounders from my recollections of previous seasons, and so it is again.
