Hmm... Not a bad stage. But could be better. |

very surprised to see nothing from Machado after his aggressive behaviour on the previous stage...

Kudos to Rodrigues and Chamorro on that gutsy ride, especially the first one who was a rier of mine... Kinda
In hindsight I agree that my poor support may have costed the yellow. However I'm not too sure that PCM would have behaved properly had it been a stronger team like Telkom in our place.
Stage 7 was more surprising to me given that nobody cared to attack...
Two mountain stages left though. I'm still expecting Machado to lay down the axe and bring things back to normal Thanks for another set of great reports, master roturn!

Great veteran move by Cataldo, just when I thought the second half of the race may not be that fertile.
We really benefited by the brave Marquez-attack, could've been another one for the breakaway otherwise.
Ready to head to the climax. It's quite relaxed when you already got your share.

Nice to see Jang going for the KoM. I hope he can keep the jersey until the end.
I'm slowly getting a feeling that I should've sold Kiserlovski instead of Rodrigues.
The former is racing really anonymous so far, only two more stages where he can prove his value, with the two riders from the winning break ahead and probably out of reach, I really can't expect more than 7th/8th in the end, but I hope that he can at least do that.
Great to have increased the lead in the team classification, would be a nice achievement to keep it until the end. |

Really? No one in the break, no one attacking. Nothing from my team.

So Pinot, how do you explain losing that much time to all the other 80 MO riders? Because I see no good reason for it... |

*reminds De La Cruz has less mountain than Rujano*
Oh well... I guess I should be happy with a top 10, but I can already see all goals beeing failed but 1... |

Excellent attritional stage. The one you really need good daily form for - Dan Martin has shown once again that he is a nuggety sort of stage racer. He could even challange Mach-daddy.
Ricco meanwhile still has to secure podium from bastard break bastards.
Behind that the squabbling from the dick measurers starts. Though to be fair Pinot and Rujano should not be hanging around lower top 10.

Another exciting stage, though gaps are bigger than expected. Didn't imagine Rodriguez could be dethroned until the end of stage 9.
Cataldo had a solid stage, staying with Pinot and Brenes is an achievement.
Next one is a last chance for Maillet to show why he once won this race... and last opportunity for the contenders to mix up the rankings. I anticipate a lot of action.
It's a long season. We'll find ways to return the favour.

Is Cassidy a better version of Howes at le tour? Yes.
Jokes aside, this has to be what everyone expected to happen isn't it? If Rodrigues holds to 3rd it will have been a great race for him none the less. So I guess most are happy as it stands.
Great report roturn.

Jang is crazy, third day in a row he is in the break. This time though it wasn't possible to score any mountain points. If he wants to keep the jersey he will have to attack again in the next stage. I hope he still has enough energy left for that.
Kiserlovski also finally showing himself, I'm content with 5th place, but considering he was climbing the fastest it is a little disappointing he only woke up so late. I hope he can defend his 7th place on stage 9 or even do better.
Alizadeh so far also defending his top20 in GC and Shimano is still leading the teams classification. I can't really complain about the race so far. |

I don't even think he's better than his own shadow.
Also what a good ride from Martin! Happy to see him do well.

I really hope we can hold our position in GC, maybe move up a spot, with the strength on the field here I didn't expect this.

I love to see SanCor doing great, they kind of have a Novo Nordisk flair for me sadly the last stage won´t fit Marquez, but let´s dream of a podium...
