After the first real Alps stage (which was as well disapointing), the riders will move to the biggest challenge for the GC guys. This time there will be no Sky train, so guys like Quintana, Mollema or Yates can take some time... or not, because Froome is likely to be the strongest in the Mountain Time Trial as well, to make his gap a bit bigger.
***** Froome
****
*** Quintana, Porte
** Yates, Mollema, Aru, Bardet
* Meintjes, Martin, RodrÃguez, Kreuziger, Valverde
Do I really have to say it?

I'm expecting everyone to sit up and let the breakaway take this TT.

Froome needs to take his signature win. His win in Luchon wasn't a display of his psychical prowess, he needs this one |

Will be shocked if Froome doesnt win this stage. He even saved himself massively today, didnt even have to go 90 % up the final climb
The climb looks too step for Dumoulin

Froomes performance reminds me Armstrong...simply has no bad days. He is to good to be clean. He will prob take this stage also....Dumolin 3rd win? Maybe Porte as he is in good shape now for a 3rd week. |

There was a prologue (5.4km) over that second Cote in the 2004 dauphine. Mayo won. He was so good that month. Too good unfortunately.

Seems like Mayo used a normal bike while Armstrong was on a real TT bike. no idea what they'll use tomorrow.

I think it is because he has the record(he has the record, right?) of Cote de Domancy from the 1980 world championships in Sallanches. |

I would say it will be a mix of aero and "regular" bikes for the TT with some using clip on bars, can't see anyone using a full blooded TT bike for this.

I think Dumoulin will set a good early time but fully expect Froome to impose himself on this stage. I expect Porte will be either very good or very bad, no middle ground with this guy

Shane Archbold's bike after hitting a wall at 80 kph on a descent yesterday, not only did he finish the stage but he did it with a fractured Pelvis!!! It's not the first time he's done something like this, the guy is as tough as nails and quite possibly insane
Also Cancellara won't be starting today, he pulled out to focus on Rio
