Contador in top shape wouldn't be able to dent this Sky team, he's past his best
Maybe, but I don't think he'd be doing any worse than Quintana.
I don't disagree with you and that goes to my point that Contador in top shape wouldn't do much for this race

I haven't actually seen this mentioned anywhere, but 17 stages into the Tour and we are still yet to see a French stage winner. Has there ever been a Tour without a stage won by a Frenchman?

Holy shit! With a little luck, Yates could even finish on the podium. I fear when Sky are done with Froome that Adam and Simon will unfortunately be their next experiments.
No way Sky will sign a caught doper, they are too focused on good PR.

Two actually, 1999 and another year which I've to look for the exact date.

When Orica first signed them they received offers from Orica and Sky, if they weren't willing to go to Sky then, hopefully it means they aren't now.
So, before the Tour we have announcements suggesting significantly better detection of EPO microdosing, as well as enhanced testing for motors, and we then have a Tour with little attacking and a few rather big names underperforming. Coincidence?!

Contador is done for at Tour de France. No matter who he's up against there will always be 5 guys stronger than him. Every year since 2011.
Everyone that can put one and one together understands why.
Please mention the 5 guys who can beat him i would like to know who other than Froome.
This is a fun exercise
For this year, hard to say since he isn't here but I'd think: Froome, Yates, Mollema, Porte.
And then, hmm. Bardet maybe? He's doing quite well this year
Very hard to predict where Contador would've been.at this point. Anywhere from 4th to 10th I guess. Don't think he'd be in the top 3 atm.

I clearly said that no matter who he was going up against there would be 5 guys stronger and even explained why (but if why isn't clear to you: the guy got popped during TdF2010. Since then he never got back to his old level at TdF but did at other races. Why? cause he can no longer use his main program at TdF cause it isn't safe.)

I'd rather have 3 cooked Contadors than half of these guys in the top10. Ok sure Yates and Mollema are holding for historic results, but the rest could show a little audacity.
Contador would launch all his non-existing might in penultimate climbs and secondary stages. All we are seeing Quintana and Aru doing is wasting their insanely-luxurious domestiques into oblivious threats of non-attacks...
All I'm saying is when is next year's Giro starting?
Avin this is bad. Kreuziger riding as expected.
I was really waiting when Yates will crack..amazing youngster.
People don't accuse GC guys. When Poels can drag Froome inside 1km. Porte's wheel after Porte attack has dropped everyone else. There is nothing you can do.
This is like good old "blue train". Drag your leader far as possible..and it looks like easy. Such team is huge advantage.
I hope Porte survives 3 days..or he will be pushed deep into mud again..
He need great TT then he will be motivated to go early and get into podium

2013 was a bad year for him the other 2 he had done the Giro before and won it. We are yet to see someone who can pull off the Giro-Tour in the GC.
Glad Yates has filled in his TUEs so he can ride so well here, riding well enough for a podium so hopefully he can take one, ahead of less deserving candidates.
Froome killing everyone but his Sky buddies (both current and former skyborgs). Its beautiful to see Froome gracefully glide up these climbs, he will reach 7 TDF wins and call it quits, he really is a people's champion. ALLEZ FROOME!

Contador lost 1'44 in total of the crash in stage 1 and and the TTT in stage 2 in 2011.He would have been 3rd without them. Also he was injured after the crash in stage 9 and tired from the Giro.He would definitely have won that one without the injury and crashes.
Also he was the best on the 8th stage of 2014 Tour de France. And he would have finished either 2nd or won that Tour without the crash.
