Noooooooo 1 damn point! Aaarggh.
Thanks for the report, though
A stage win, 10th place and Young Jersey, can't be that disappointed. But that points jersey would've come in handy and nice. Too bad to miss out on that! |

No mentions, not a rider in the top 49. That's how we do it lads!
Well I can't be unhappy still, with 2 stage wins, a podium and a 4th place along with a nice 3rd place in the points standings, just that it's sad not to have a single rider well placed in the GC. At least this should still secure us a promotion in PCT. Hurts to not promote directly but yeah,
Still some great reports throughout the race TR, thanks so much for those!

Brilliant win by Rabon, picking up the GC win here. Only his second win of the season, after stage 1 of Taiwan, but this one is oh so important. Also very nice to pick up the points classification on the way (sorry Ian, but we really need this in the rankings battle). Combined with stage results the total amount of points to make up should just be doable. Winning in Züri-Metzgete would bring 72 points, so if Rabon surprises me there (or if the rest of the team helps performing) we might still win the rankings.
Thanks for the great reports, The Rider

Disappointing last stage, but I won't be crying over a GC 3-4 even though the youth jersey would have been nice seeing that we finish 2-3 in that competition.
Thanks for some great reporting!

Oh well, hope it helps you
Would've been nice for us, but I'm not unhappy you were able to take it!
Congrats, by the way! |

Non-event of a stage for us but I'm glad we secured the good overall pointscore of multiple riders up there. Last race of the season for us, really pleased with parts of it but we also have a loong way to go and to improve upon. looking forward to the last race of the season now, and crossing my fingers that we are still on top afterwards.
Thanks for some great reports, TR.
Gratz to Selwink winning the race.

Finally a big of action from Baz and we end with a podium! At least, this will not be a pointless race when it comes to the CT scoring!
Thanks for the reports rider - great entertaining race congrats to selwink!

We had so many opportunities for a stage win but we didn't get but we got some nice top 10s and we won the KOM classification so can't be too upset.
Thanks TR for the reports

Congrats Novatek and thanks The Rider
Haga saves the day here. According to my calculation we still have a marginal lead over OTP, meaning 16th in still up for grabs!
Yes, I'm celebrating if we finish 16th

Thank you for pulling back Gaimon Fablok/Delavel/Novatek. and congrats Selwink.
This race was, as far as things go, very good for us, now it will just come down to Zuri...
Thanks again for the amazing reports the rider.

Thanks for the reports The Rider - and for the ranking points file.
- Strava hold onto their lead after a strong showing in South America
- Rabon's win does close the gap for Novatek, and he still has Zurich
- Fablok climb to 3rd, but are unlikely to go any higher
- Delaval end the season in 5th and must wait to see if they stay there. Some turn around from bottom last year!
- In-n-out go ahead of Netia, but not by much, and will watch on anxiously
- Sancor delivered best in their South American battle with Alpina. 10th place is not yet safe, but it is close
- Severstal back ahead of Carlsberg
- Daspuntsag leads Fox to victory in their fight for 23rd

17 Points should be definitely doable, we've got our best possible spot and we just need a rider in the top 11 to move back up, touching wood but it should be doable. I'm still so nervous about this though, anything could happen...
Also catching Generalli is still possible but would require something equivalent to two riders on the podium or our GP Sallanches performance, so I'll discount that ,
Also congrats matt on what looks like almost definite promotion (I think it's still mathematically possible for Sancor and us to both overtake you but not going to happen )
Thanks for the update SN although you've just got me really nervous now.

So I guess I'll be chearing for anyone but Indosat in their final race.
Thanks for the update. 5th is good enough for me - especially after last year!

Thanks for the frequent updates SN, they're greatly appreciated.
Well I'm happy about that 7th place as long as it grants us the promotion and makes us achieve our top 10 goal
I've still got a bitter sweet taste for not getting in the top 5 at the end of the season. Sadly some riders haven't performed to their stats for no apparent reason. Take Ratto. 79 flat, which is a protour stat basically, 75 sp and still, he never does anything. What a disgrace.
Or Taillefour, 78 cob, 77 flat, not too shabby backups, straight up dominates one race but before and after he does nothing. No one has got 78 in the CT
Girardi and Malacarne, my mountainous stage races leaders, should have been grabbing top 10s mostly everywhere with their 75 mo and 70+ tt - Malacarne even has got a decent cobble stat - and still, I've just seen totally mediocre results by both. I was also gonna say Moser but 2 stage wins in the same stage race is almost acceptable. That doesn't take away the fact that he's been crap the rest of the season. Not to talk about Passalacqua, but with those stats he was always bound to suck b*lls.
To the positives now. Molard and especially Boaro overperformed, Rolland actually lived up to the expectations and Finetto saved our asses several times. It's nice to see that our depth rescued us but we've seen how you need much more than that in PCT. This year I haven't suceeded to buy a clear leader however I'm just going to buy one next year at the cost of struggling with the budget
On another note, being so strict with nationality was short sighted. We missed out on so many riders who would have suited our team so perfectly... Next year I'll try to stick to my plan whilst expanding my focus to the Benelux as well, and why not, if needed even buy some riders from obscure countries heh.
Saving something for the final update

Didn't expect to get around the 3rd place, just look at our Top 15 goal
So 3 GC's, lots of stage wins and Zielinski with good taste in breaks
Our aim is to never get back into CT for starters, so might make Zuri an extra special race Shonak would be in my Top 3 over "Manager of the Year" considering his understanding, in a game he has never had a full grasp on.
Our own planning hasn't been great, so lots to learn for our journey into PCT. Also we can proudly say that we gained automatic promotion and didn't rely on disbandments (which kinda takes away the drama, to be in that situation)

Finally Acevedo showed something that we have been sorely missing all season, but unfortunately it was too little, too late - if only he hadn't been caught out on that stage earlier in the race! Looks like we're pretty secure in 11th then, I think we would only be able to catch SanCor if we win Zuri but we are probably equally unlikely to be caught by Severstal. Incredibly annoying considering top 10 was our goal for the season!
Predictions were 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 10th so I think we can feel justifiably aggrieved at our finishing position; it's probably down to my race planning skills but it seems like the number of times I have been shouting at Forero and Acevedo in particular this season has been so great that I am surprised that I still retain the use of my vocal chords.
Promotion is still a question that looms in the air - although I think the predicted last promotion place is 10th at the moment it was well below that last year so we still might have a chance. And if we don't promote then everyone else in the CT will have the benefit of watching Chamorro fly up the climbs at the head of a 78,76,76,76,75,75,74,73 CT mountain train

I always feared that band 3 will be my downfall. Novatek will take it there.

15th isn't completely out of range if we get a fantastic result at Zuri. 16th should be very easy to achieve.
Thanks for the update SN |

Nice little 12 place for us in the GC for our last race of the season
Thanks for the rankings update too SN, if Netia is able to beat us with their 3 race days left, they'll have deserved it
Pretty successful year for us if we only look at the results and goals, with 2 goals being achieved. I little part of me hopes we stay in the CT because of all the fun I've have the last 2 years at this level, but we'll see how everything turns out |
