Tour of Tasmania
pcmdaily.com/images/mg/2015/profiles/pt/tot_mg.png

The Tour of Tasmania a hilly race through Australia’s island state, known for cold winds and having the freshest air in the world, for the riders it will the penultimate PT race of the season and should provide an important chance to grab some rankings points or a victory to finish off the season. The race is in its 3rd edition this year, with both former winners pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tcs.png Yuri Trofimov and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/mus.png Tejay Van Garderen racing this year.

The race is split between the best puncheurs and the best time trialists, who will need to hold on during the hill stage to contest the win, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/tcs.png Trofimov is likely the favourite here, due to his ability on hills and time trials, although pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Hagen, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vwa.png Claeys, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ven.png Phinney, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fes.png Coppel and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/rbh.png Cancellara are all not to be overlooked, amongst the many contenders here.

pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ven.png Van Avermaet807166pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Van der Lijke787975

Plenty of teams have brought someone for the first stage here, where the front runners will likely be riders such as pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/pok2.png Mohs, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/fes.png Tzortzakis and world champion pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/ozc.png Goss who was born in Tasmania and will be looking to shine for a home crowd. The stage contains a small hill near the finish, which could hurt the chances of some of the more pure sprinters increasing the chances of riders such as pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vwa.png Zabel, pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/akm.png Kristoff and pcmdaily.com/images/mg/micro/vsa.png Van der Lijke.

Excited to see what Howson can do on that last stage.

McCarthy being amazing here is possibly the only thing that could lift my mood even further right now. Also Bennett can surprise with a top 5 possibly if he gets a good day, top 10 would be a good result too though at this level.

Crommy
Go on Martin and Mottin, our time trialling duo.

I think Trofimov will win, but I'd like to see someone like Ponzi continue their fine season form and take the victory

TvG and Coppel dominating this race would be nice Smile Can remember last season, this was the first MG race I cheered for Coppel winning and he failed, this is your last chance!

Also Ponzi winning this would be plain genius Grin

Probably need both the stage 2 win and the GC for Boasson Hagen to keep the top 5 hope alive, which makes it easier to forget about and just enjoy the race, as it will hopefully be good seeing the hilly stage not being the opener of the race. Kristoff is here as well to use up his race days.

Difficult to look past Trofimov, but all it will take is one rider slipping away and the chasing to stop. Flügel? Just to make the relegation battle take another unexpected turn Pfft

Looking forward for the racing!

Well Tasmania is where I lost the chance to win the PT last year, and with Coppel in the field there's still a chance that could happen again. In Van der Lijke, Gastauer and Kittel I've got a rider to challenge for each stage though, and hopefully Stage 2 will see sufficient gaps to rule out a high GC placing for Coppel.

These are the latest standings, btw.

Bacardi and VW were closely matched in Praha but Movistar lost ground, so it will be interesting to see if TJVG can lead their recovery here - it's usually a strong race for him.

Well, here we go. I think TVG can do and history is on our side.

Glad to at least have my best rider and IRL favourite rider dictate my fate. Quite a funny way to end the season off.

Gotta go with the safe bet of Bewley for this one Pfft

It will be interesting to see if we can create a Giro-like train for Tzortzakis here. Fingers are crossed. We need every bit of luck we can get at this point.

My bets are on the tt-ers this year, so I will go with Phinney. Hopefully Trofimov can get a podium or a stage win or a KoM. Good luck to everybody in this last ProTour Stage Race of the season!

Probably will fail our goal here, but of course Bobridge can do something notable. He only needs to be amongst those, who actually try to join the crucial nmoves on day two! If he sits up in the pack, his TT skills won't be worth anything... So, please, have a good day there!

Goss... It looks doable, but I better not expect a special result in that opener. He hasn't been to special this year. This is a great chance to bounce back in style though! Just do it, Matt!

3 stages, 3 wins. One for Kennaugh, one for Schreurs, one for Viennet. Allez Wink

I`d say Coppel to deliver Festina the win here against Vesuvio and Van Garderen to beat Ulissi but not sure if this is enough to avoid relegation.

PCT teams surely hope that Bacardi stays up I guess. Wink

This is a nothing race for us really. Breakaways please, I beg you Pfft

At the bottom, I would rather Bacardi stayed up if it meant RBC promoting, but if Evonik would be promoting then I hope that VW can stay up instead. Purely from a self-interested perspective when looking at rivals for next season Pfft

SotD
Coppel winning? I can't see that being very possible. Phinney is going to beat him 3/3 here, and I fear that looking at the startlist, the hilly stage will be killer.

If any TT'er will win the race then it is going to be Ignatiev, as he seems to be able to attack on the right moments.

Coppel definitely won`t win here. But he will outscore Vesuvio imo and this way wins the division title for you. Wink

Get a better GC result than Gastauer? I wish Smile

My chance to win the division is for Tzortzakis to do really well on the first stage, Coppel to win the final stage and get a top 10-15GC.
