No riders from me, just want to say I hope we avoid the overrated riders. I would prefer if we have another off-season like last year

Portugal needs at least some good helpers, many of the existing will no longer be useful

One of the guys riding for the Swedish team "Team Tre Berg", his strongest stat should be sprint. Done som minor result in 2015 most notably 2nd in Scandinavian Race.

Already at a young age Marcus showed great potential, 5th att U23 European ITT championship and 12th in 2014. In 2014 he came 3rd in both RR and ITT in the Swedish NC. 2015 he cam 15th in the U23 WC. He have also been active and take some top 10 KoM. Most notably Uno-X Tour of Norwat and Artic Tour of Norway both in 2014, against some quality riders. He´s a great rider and hopefully got a bright future.

I must say I´m not used to setting stats to riders and almost no knowledge about it. |

there is a good middle ground. The previous year saw too many talented young riders where last year saw almost none. Belgium didn't receive a single young rider last season for example. We can't go two seasons without adding in some big talents because otherwise a few seasons from now the quality of the riders will seriously drop and the same guys will dominate year after year.

It's not like 2014 was the only year where some good talents were added. It's going to take more than a few seasons for the quality to seriously drop. I've made a 2019 DB to see for myself.

Personally it feels like there has been some stat inflation in the MG since I joined 3 years ago, especially in the quality of rider that is able to be signed by CT teams. I'm not sure if that's got something to do wit budgets or renewals or whether there genuinely are better riders in the CT division that there used to be or if there are more of them floating about than there used to be.
I remember Schurter being a fairly strong puncher and Alizadeh being CT leader material with Jiriakov making a GC podium in a mountain race which with 74 mountain he would now be nowhere near doing despite managing it through good riding and none of those riders stats have changed since but I can't imagine them being able to repeat their performances or points scoring potential from my first season.
Anyway I'll look into finding some riders to be added but I'll warn you in advance that I'm really bad at suggesting stats and that they'll probably need adjusting to make them better balanced riders.

@sammy
Wouldn't say so on the climbs. MO fields have been pretty consistent across all 3 CT seasons, slightly more depth for HL, but not massively.

I think you've explained it there. Renewals mean that those teams which are in their second year in CT have a lot more riders on minimum wage or close to it, freeing up wage budget to spend on bigger leaders. Those teams also receive money for completing goals that they didn't receive in their first year and as such they can afford to buy in stronger leaders than they could in their first year.

Some people use this strategy, yes. Some others choose a different route.

A few days ago I actually looked into my team's results from CT. Rodas (76Mo) had some good results in mountainous stage racers, but never won a GC. Also, he only won 1 mountain stage (probably due to luck). Ngue (74hil) was my hills leader, and only managed top 10s in classics and GC. He did win 1 or 2 stages iirc (but what set him apart from other 74hill guys are some good back up stats).
There has been a bit of inflation, but like you mentioned I think it's mostly due to renewals. And the majority of new managers seem much informed than I was when I joined.

Would love to see some Swiss guys added.
There are no rising stars in the fitting age (Patrick Müller is a huge talent, but born 1996), but numbers are needed, too.
Last season there have been bareknuckle fights for the few available Swiss riders and I ended signing Taramarcaz (OVL: 71.65 free agent) for 180k! maxed!
Warning! I'm not very familiar with the PCM stats, but tried my best to translate the tendency of the results in the man-db matrix. PCS-profile will open by klicking the surename.

From the Swiss free agents I will suggest to upgrade Tom Bohli. It seems to me he turned into decent TTler and had some success in sprints.
ID | Surename | First Name | Fl | Mo | Hl | TT | St | Rs | Rc | Cb | Sp | Ac | Ft | Dh | Pl | Nat. | Cont. | 5889 | Bohli | Tom | 74 | 63 | 71 | 78 | 74 | 75 | 72 | 71 | 77 | 75 | 65 | 60 | 77 | |
Guess apart from Bohli none of the other Swiss free agents needs an urgent overhaul, but maybe Dylan Page (ID: 7666) and Gian Friesecke (ID: 467) can gain a level or two?

@Margh
You were a bit unlucky, where some nice Swiss guys added before you joined. However, without looking at the DB from my memory it is a country that could use a few extra domestique level riders

How it will drop, when we have like dozens of 21-24 year old supertalents in the game, which will be on the top for next 6-10 years? With adding more and more top talents, it will only make some of them flops and stats will keep inflating. Inflation is clearly visible already when you compare averages of teams across the divisions, with averages five years back for example. Having two, three years without top talents (or max 2-3 per year) is what the game needs imo.
Another thing is "fair" distribution of talents and potential helpers. Why add 5-7 guys that will max in areas 77-79 from Norway (sorry Ember) or France, when there is shitload of these already in the database? While some countries lack 77+ talents or 73-75 helpers and thus it is extremely tough to build area or country specific teams if you are not from France, Netherlands, Spain or Norway...
So i think that more depth to lean countries is much bigger priority than Benoot, dutch Sagan, Latour or that Odd norwegian guy
But i am quite sure SN is aware about all of this and will make the great job adding guys with reason,like he always does.

I like how you did not mention Germany in the "super-countrey"-club. We want German top talents! :-p

I just put some examples, there could also be Germany, Italy, Australia, ....
Important note, i am not rooting for Ukrainian talents or something like that, maybe just one "under 80" guy and some potential domestiques
I will come up with some names soon.

Ok, here are some names of ukrainian "talents", but any of them hardly achieved something great in their careers, so it can be rather a role-model if there is need to add moe depth.
Special case is Anatoliy Budyak, who was caught doping, but before that looked like very promising upcoming stage racer. He is 1995 born, so maybe we should wait anyway...but i will list him, for future references at least.

Budyak is indeed a tough case. Shame he got caught doping as otherwise he could have been a nice Ukrainian addition.
With the doping case and 1995 I would say, better way until after his ban to add someone like him. |
