PCT Rankings Update #6
fintas
Although there are still possibilities to fight for promotion that is not the purpose and even if this were achieved perhaps the invitation was refused ...
The aim is to even finish in the top 10 and this seems increasingly real, this would cause the team finished with 3 objectives achieved and two near miss what is almost perfect.

Well the fact that we were the worst team in the Tour of America practically illustrates our season up to this point. The breakaways were the only place we aimed to score points and luckily did scrap together a bit here and there.

The relegation battle is ever so close, Siam should survive with a slightly higher PPRD but they could have a low scorer in one of their final races which could flip everything around. It will probably be between myself and COC and it will go to the team that manages to do better in these final races.

I really don't have the highest hopes for my October. Colombian Venteaux will be an interesting race and I somewhat doubt that Arroyo/Lopez Garcia will deliver the goods but it all depends on te startlist for the race. The big one is obviously the Tour of Beijing. First of all I need Bouhanni to make an appearance in the sprints and get up there in the points. Then I need Herrada and Lopez to get some vital GC points which could be very difficult given the course and the level of competition.

Good luck to all those fighting throughout the table as another great Man-Game Season comes to a close!

As pointed out in the Pt rankings there does look like there will be at least one more invite for a promotion spot. So the battle for 6th (hey who knows possibly 7th as well) should be hard fought - the top 5 seem clear. Gazelle, Aegon, Puma and Bpost are top class and expected - Kenya less so, great performance from them.

Looks like Blackfish are not going to make it at the bottom end and certainly cheering on fjhoekie's team though not sure I want it at the expense of Siam Cement or Eusketel!

ToA was not as good as we hoped for, so that hurt our chances to move up into the upper half of the PCT field, but with three races involving Summerhill left on the calendar (Rheden, Plouay and Paris-Tours) there are certainly some points left for us this season. Quintana and a climber heavy squad out to Colombian Venteaux where hopefully we can scratch away some more points then end on two races where we pick up those beautiful zeros in Giro dell'Emilia and the Japan Cup.

Thanks for the update!
Feels a little bit better being out of the relegation spot, but we're still anything but save. Would be great if we can make it until we leave for the final East Asia races to soothe our nerves and to make next season planning easier.

Fear we scored 10 points less in Canada, just counted 93 (Di Maggio: 69, Gatto:14, Wyss: 10)

Very nice update, thanks!

Less happy with the content. Those 230 Bazzana breakaway points really hurt us. It raised Aegon's PpRD by 0.8 points while we fell 0.3 after a lacklustre Britain and GPC.

But not giving up of course! There's still plenty of opportunity to score well with 4 Monfort appearances in the hills. And maybe Veelers will finally catch some form, you never know.

This is going to be a fierce battle. Grin

looks like we are definately going to end up bottom of the table, I can't see us scoring as well as we did at America in any of our remaining races so can't see us closing the gap to cycle yorkshire at all.

I guess now I've got to try and figure out how to fit everyone I want to keep under the CT wage cap (which I thnk is doable), figure out who is worth keeping to sell and figure out how I'm going to find 6 PT loans next year as my youg squad keeps developing.

I'm really hoping Vontobel manage to stay up as having a CT Swiss focussed team and potentially 2 PCT ones or if Bushwackers side stay up one PCT and one PT one would be alot better for the nation than having 2 in the CT.

Stobarts are battling hard to avoid the dreaded drop but are they going to be successful Frown

So I am sure we weren't given the points for placing in the TTT on stage 6.

Correct, I had forgotten to incorporate the TTT factor for that stage. So Prio were given too many points, and nothing had been awarded to Type 1 or Bonsucro. Fixed in my file, and will be evident whenever the next update is.

Only 15 pts behind Stobart! Pfft

Relegation is now secure I guess, although finishing 28th would be better than 29th, at least its something to race for Grin

Thanks for the update SN.

These were always going to be tough races for us but scoring points in Canada was a bit unexpected. That race simply wasn't selective enough, because if it had been then at least Zingle would have been able to pick something up.

Anyway top 3 remains the goal and I hope that Rheden can provide some big points.

Thanks for the quick update.
I like that the gap to Kärcher expanded but it still is possible to overtake us with a single superb HC classic so my season ain't over yet!

I don't think you can count my team out of the relegation fight. It's very well possible that both Euskaltel and Children of Chernobyl still overtake us. Kip needs to step up his game finally again in the last races to prevent that from happening.

Well, 526 points on the first theoretical non-promotion spot and even 687 points on the first practical one...September was one heck of a month for us, probably the best scoring month in our history.

I think you mean Rujano.

Also in PCT, there's alot of close fights at the end! *grabs popcorn* I can't wait for the final races to happen.
