Konovalovas somewhat justifies his crazy high wage, feel less sorry for selling him now
Nepomnyachsniy still solid, despite losing the green for now. Could well be lost forever, but with the TT coming he still has a shot. As for the GC I'm still rather optimistic, a podium should always happen from this position.

Nice too see Landa showing his intentions for the next stage already.
This race is so damn successfull for the teams in the relegation zone already!

Is it? Its a nice win and all but god was that a waste of my budget xD
Hope this sparks a good run of momentum from now on...

Nice sprint by Oss. Also Kangert sharp again.
In stage 8 Kangert needs to win time on some of the better climbers, otherwise the TT wont be enough to grab top 5 GC. Fingers crossed.

'A Bonsucro rider makes the break!'
Hehe! Best stage for us by a mile there, thanks for the consistent reports put out so far Atlantius. |

This stage had more high profile agentsbthan I had anticipated, but it's good to see it didn't interfere much with the GC, despite Kwiat's result.
Tomorrow is the first of the three decisive days of this race. Hopefully everything goes extremely orthodoxically
Congratulations to Kronovalovas and his manager!

Anonymous is good on such a stage. Hopefully the team is up for it on the coming hilly stage, it's all about loosing as little as possible for Stake Laengen.
Congratulations on the stage, ryant! Kwiatkowski also picking up what could prove valuable bonus seconds, which is interesting to see. Really looking forward to the next three stages, as there is room for a lot of changes in the GC. |

The break again suddenly just gains time on the peloton Docker looked good, think he could have challenged for a spot on the podium, if he hadn't gone long in a desperate attempt to catch Konovalovas.
Congrats to ryant!

Unlikely, but not impossible Patrick Lane will steal another day in yellow. The Sabugal circuit promises a lot of fun either way.

I have to say i am happy to be out of PCT, seeing the AI when there is not enough strong guys to pull the break or late attacker day after day. Our two climbers were pulling the peloton in last 10kms, what? Disapointing result for Grosu, who should cooperate with Popkov better there...
Thanks for the report and congrats to CycleYorkshire!

Levarlet actually decent. Still, 12th after the hilly stages is just poor. Juul-Jensen again failing.
Thanks for the report, Atlantius!

Shame Kwiatek couldn't make up time there, expected him to be higher than 5th after the hilly stages. He's now got to make up time in the mountains instead ahead of the TT.
Such a close race makes this really nail biting between 5-6 riders for the win. My prediction at the moment:
1. Machado
2. Nepom
3. Kwiatek
4. Cataldo
5. Boily
6. Kangert
2-6 are easily interchangeable, so the concluding stages should be very exciting. |

2 great stages for Boily but tomorrow is a massive test he would need great daily form to even stand a chance of a podium I feel but his overall race has been brilliant and like his season i'm extremely happy with him.
My Top 10
1. Machado
2. Cataldo
3. Nazaret
4. Nepom
5. Kwiatek
6. Boily
7. Kangert
8. Bennett
9. Leverlet
10. Tvetchov |

Another decent job by Kangert. Very curious what the mountain stage will bring! Indeed very hard to predict the entire top 10 GC.

Must admit I didn't expect Stake Laengen to loose almost 2'40 to so many riders on that stage, which is slightly disappointing, eventhough a time loss was expected.
Now it's all about that mountain stage, hopefully he can keep himself within striking distance of a top 20 overall. It would also be great to see Dyrnes make the breakaway, but that's probably a pure lottery.
Congratulations to aidan on the stage! |

Decent sportsmanship by the teams attending the Volta! Thanks for slowing it down when Patrick crashed.
Overall an incredible race from our perspective. First time we received that much attention and TV time since promoted to PCT.
Cataldo is in a good position to be top contender to Tiago Machado, hope he can stay as long as possible close to the Potuguese. Beating Nepomnyachsniy could become a crucial task for the relegation battle.
Great reports, awesome race!

Another bullet dodged on that hilly stage, which leaves everything perfectly prepared for the all-decisive mountain stage.
I see Kenya and RBC's managers already dropping all the pressure on our leader, something which comes out of absolutely nowhere. Boily, Cataldo, Kwiatek and Nepo are the ones we all should be watching, while Kangert and Nazaret will be trying to upset them. Machado is the underdog. Seriously Tiago no pressure... no pressure at all...
