Very dissapointed none of Froome, Quintana or Contador are here. Their best ever chance to win a Monument

also I spend 15 minutes this morning trying to record it. What a stupid idea by RCS to put it on Sunday. Luckily it'll be back on Saturday from next season onwards.

Someone's missing from the favorites.
That's right Dombrowski. He has a strong but potentially mutinous team round him.

I for one don't mind the change; being on a Sunday means it's the first time I'll be able to catch a Lombardia live!
I always feel like this gets far less hype and coverage than the other four monuments so I'm hoping for a good race. The course has got my approval, much better than last year's.

I prefer sunday as well, it's the usual monument day. Nice course definitely.
Valvede had a good WC and he also races Abu Dhabi so I figure he still must feel good after such a long season. Wellens was really strong last year though, he could make it on the podium this time around. One of the frenchies may to surprise us.

How would it be their best chance to win a monument? None of them would be in the shape to finish top 10.
Looking forward to watching this years race, better course and the field looks pretty good. I have no idea who's going to win which just makes the race all that more interesting

Well, I think both Contador and Quintana would be some of the favorites if they really wanted to attempt to win this race. But I think the right decisions for both was to stop after Tour/Vuelta in order to be ready for 2016, it has a long season in particular for Quintana and to train a month/two months for Contador for a one day race at this point of his career I think wouldnt be wise. If I remember correctly, he did the same in 2013 after his horrendous season and somehow got back to the old Contador we all love. Overall, fine decision by both. But who would mind watching either of those 2 in this race? I surely wouldnt
Somehow underrated monument, but classes above the Italian counterpart which often bores me do death. Astana has all the firepower in the world even without Aru, so I expect them to dominate the race. Valverde is obviously the main challenger, I bet along with Majka and Rui Costa. Looking forward to see if Chaves can go the distance and get a good result as well! |

Supporting Wellens, Gallopin, Vullermoiz, Bardet Schleck (please) and for some reason Kwiatkowski, a long list of names, but I don't expect any of them to win.
Considering that Sagan and crack a win now, why can't Valverde, who also seems cursed to a lesser degree (at least in GTs and worlds).
Also, is. Navardauskas racing? he probably doesn't have a chance, but for some reason...

They can train all they want but both all of Quinatna, Contador (less juiced but still juiced) and Froome just don't perform in the one day, also lost by the line "the old Contador we all love" what Contador is that exactly, was there a clean Contador that we could enjoy?
Chaves would make a great winner but I'd say a Yates if someone from OGE wins, it's nice to see them bring a team to compete. Starting to think an outsider might win this one and still don't get why this race doesn't get the recognition it deserves

On this route, yes, I think a 100% Quintana and Contador would have been one of the favorites since its climber friendly again this year. And I dont really care about juice or not juice, he probably juiced, but I still dont think that makes the performances less spectacular! |

The juice part was just adding a bit of flair to a dull post, climber friendly or not I don't think they are upto the likes of Piti, Nibali, Gilbert and the host of others who have shown something when it comes to one day races.
