6 Guys in the top 60 GC, great! Nepomyachsniy doing very well finishing 24th, and Krasnoperov didn't do bad for a change, very happy with this performance, now it just has to carry on to HC and C1 races so we can still avoid relegation.

Now that's almost exactly what I was hoping for Morton to do on final day. Pity he missed the stage though.
Terrible race imo, so instead of congratulate Festina and Pendleton (wtf!), I say congrats to roturn Thanks for the quality reports. Didn't enjoy the AI/race, even though we had two strange highlights here. But of course your work is highly appreciated

Congratulations SotD. And thank you for the race roturn. With no leader going in, I'm glad to walk away with a stage win.

A good last stage for Tenorio, unfortunately way to late in the race for it to make a difference in the GC. Tenorio lost way more in the previous stages then he gained today.
Great reports though, thanks!

A very good final stage for us with Sørtveit going second and Martin being one of the strongest GC riders. Thought for a moment that both Madrazo and Alarcon where within striking distance in the GC seeing how the stage developed, but 5th overall is also more than enough to make me happy.
Spilak by far the strongest here and in complete control, and as SN says, it's adding to his solid season, eventhough I'm under the impression he has done horrible in the stage races when reading SotD's comments
But congratulations, SotD! Will be interesting to see how big affect this will have on the rankings, as you could build up a big gap before the Tour if you grab some points in Dauphiné as well.
Speaking of the rankings, it's really sensational stuff from Pendleton's! Extending the gap down to most, if not all, teams behind them means they're suddenly looking good for survival, I think. And to be honest, I really hope they can do it as well after how the transfer season played out for wackojackohighcliffe with me being a bad guy considering Martin.
Thanks for the reports, roturn! |

Well it wasnt meant as an "I deserve to be leading" post. It was just a comment to highlight the fact, that my GC riders usually had one fuck up pr. GC race, which costed the win. I dont Think my riders are necessarily over/underperforming more than most other teams.
This is the first race win of the season! And looking at the riders in my team it shouldnt be. But besides winning races we have been extremely cobsistent, which is very new to me. This win is SO important! Not only does it mean that we lead the rankings for the first time in 4 seasons (I think), it is also our first stage win AND our only "win goal" of our season!
It is absolutely amazing to win the race, 3 stages and the points competition! Martin Hacecky even overperformed dramatically!
Sorry guys, but it is........
time!

Oh also. Thanks a lot for all the congrats! and Thanks for the report. Only just now read the report more thorough, and it really sucks for Madrazo. Imo it was always a gamble to pay out that much to a rider that also underperformed last year, but nontheless it is extremely frustrating, and Quickstep have been hit ridiculously hard by underperformances. Together with Swisscom they are having a marathon-like season of shitty luck.
Congrats to Aker for a Nice race btw! I suspect that they will be moving fairly close to the podium after a bad/unlucky race from Vesuvio, and an expected mediocre/bad race from Becherovka.

Disappointing finish to this race by Dekker. Did well until the last two stages.
Hivert a positive surprise, and finishing 15th in the GC is well done. Definitely needed in these desperate times for survival. |

First time in 3 races actually

So, onto the standings - and the three way fight for the lead is looking as close as ever! At the end of the Ardennes Classics, Festina led the division by a single point ahead of Becherovka.

Oh. I didn't catch that, and I thought I read those updates extremely thoroughly... Anyway. For the first time in 4 seasons I lead the division by more than 1 point then
The deficit is really really interesting btw, as I reckon that you, and Becherovka will take somewhere between 500-800 points on me in the Dauphine/Tour double. I can not remember a single season where things have been this close - Atleast not with more than two teams battleing for it. It may come down to who did best in the HC races if it stays like this - And I love that!
Also Aker and Tinkoff are very close still.

Well 10th on the stage is okay, and 17th is about what I expected, but we did pretty much nothing here points wise.

Jose stayed on well here - almost snatchin a podium from the frankly rubbish Madrazo.
Pleased with this race gives hope for the Tour where I think there is a weakish field.

Deserved win for Spilak in the end, definetely the strongest, but where there actaully any doubt he would win? The underperformaning Madrazo definetely didnt make it any more difficult. Nice to see Phinney do well here after the vuelta disaster, now imagine if he got some mt training aswell...

Sad our performance was going worse day by day..., but we got a good first impression what is Pro Tour racing about.
Now back to daily business.
Gratz to dominant Spilak and future dominant Phinney!
Thanks for th entertaining reports, roturn!
