There are no "Laws of Physics", physics just does what Danny Pate allows it to do.

It's not actually correct, I just felt like saying it. Any old molecular bond happens because of overlapping orbitals, and the fusion itself is nuclei, not electrons, and therefore the only relevance that the electrons have is their repulsive magnetic nature, which is one of the reasons why hydrogen bombs are so powerful (not really any electrons to get in the way of the initial reaction). But generally you are dealing with forces that are so much larger than the magnetic repulsive force that it doesn't really matter. The difference between fusion and fission is that the latter has so much energy that instead of particles bouncing off each other, they fuse together.
I just think it's funny how people automatically have reactions like yours to quantum mechanics
