Not even an Astana victory could prevent Tony Martin topping the scoring charts once again, while Cancellara was the 2nd top scorer, Contador 3rd. The TTT victory did help Astana to have 7 riders in the days Top 20 scorers though. Picking Mark Cavendish is also now starting to pay off as he has moved up to 60th overall now - the 12th best scorer today.
In terms of teams, there is now a common feature in that all of the top 10 have selected Tony Martin. At the top it is all the same, matt493 leads and his lead has increased thanks to the TTT - it's over 200 points ahead of Fenian's Boys who are now up to 2nd.
Interestingly, today's biggest position gainers are the same as yesterday. Team Columbia are up a further 17 positions, while Team Robbo´s Heroes have gained 11. Look out for Deadpool's team aswell, gaining 7 places today after a gain of 18 yesterday and 12 on Stage 2. He may be now 1000 points behind matt493, but who knows what will happen if he keeps it up?

After Stage 3, it should come as no surprise to you that Tony Martin is the top scorer once again, this time picking up 207 pts which betters his tally of 200 from Stage 1. The 27 riders breaking clear did of course have an affect on the scoring and most notably so with Maxime Bouet, the Frenchman was the 2nd best scorer today - good news for all 2 of the teams that have him.
No team selected Van de Walle so nobody was affected by the first withdrawal of the tour, although if you selected a sprinter other than Cavendish or Hushovd it is looking to be a bad choice. The top points on offer for the Green jersey already seem set to be controlled by those 2 riders.
Once again it is matt493 in the lead and he has now extended his lead over EDTeam to over 100 pts. He had better be aware though because Fenian's Boys are on a charge. Up 7 places to number 3 - notable gains from Martin, Armstrong, Hushovd and Dumoulin today will have helped. Theres no new entries into the Top 10 but its still close going into the TTT which could see a more major shakeup of the GC.
A big gainer today is Team Robbo´s Heroes, up 18 places, while ErikZ's Columbia filled team understandably benefits from the results today and gains 13 places.

Winner of Fantasy Betting / PCM09 Competition announced
280 people used some of their fantasy PCM$ money to bet on the 1st stage of this year's Tour de France. 209 of you got the answer correct as Fabian Cancellara took yet another time trial win - and not only did you get some extra PCM$, you also got the chance to win PCM09.
And now, a randomizer tool at Random.org has chosen the winner of PCM09: Please congratulate Ildabaoth, winner of 1 x Pro Cycling Manager 2009.
As was to be expected, today's stage made no impression on the Yellow or White jerseys so the points scored today is much the same as yesterday. Tony Martin tops the charts once again, ahead of Contador and Wiggins with Cancellara the 4th best scorer.
Showing the benefits of making the breakaway today, Stef Clement is the 6th top scorer. Already ranked in the Top 50 GC, he picked up points for the Green and KoM jersey competitions as well as being named the most combative rider. Another rider to buck the trend was Nicholas Roche - 11th top scorer thanks to 43rd in GC, 8th in points and 7th in the young rider class. The stage win for Cavendish earns him the full 50 pts for taking control of the green jersey, so although it vindicates many picking him over other sprinters, it still shows that over half the teams could well have been better off in avoiding the sprinters altogether.
Onto the teams and the Top 3 remains the same with matt493 leading. He clearly chose well in terms of good time trial riders, and the first test to his lead will come on Tuesday with the TTT. There are actually just two new entries into the Top 10, Turbojugends half their position to go 7th while Fenian's Boys take 10th.
Turbojugends were not the only ones to make strides up the table though. The Animals gained 16 places, Team eBAY gained 14 places and Deadpool's team moved up 12 spots. 12 teams have now passed 2000 pts already, with 100 teams over 1000 pts. It's still all very close!

It really was a great result for Fabian Cancellara today as he took a dominant victory in the Monaco ITT. However, 2 slight problems. He didnt score KoM pts (Only Contador, Martin and Wiggins did) and he doesnt qualify for the young rider jersey.
Today it was always going to be vital to be in Top 10 - aswell as the greater points from the yellow jersey gains, they are the only ones to be ranked in the points jersey. 10th placed Armstrong therefore took 41 pts in the Points category - 11th placed Larsson gets nothing there.
So infact it was Tony Martin who tops the tables today, the only man to score in all 5 categories. Contador was 2nd, Wiggins 3rd and Cancellara only 6th in terms of points gained today. The top 20 riders can be seen by viewing the full article.
Now, onto the teams. Already 4 have had to call in their reserves as they did not remove unselected riders from their team selections. But who tops the game after Stage 1? It's matt493! With Martin, Kreuziger, Cancellara, Leipheimer, Armstrong, Zabriskie and Vandevelde all scoring well, he has built a 47 point lead over Eoin's EDTeam. 100 of the 104 teams scored at least 500 points with 14 also managing to cross the 1000 point barrier.
