Fantasy Tour de France - Stage 10
We have a new leader! The charge of EDTeam has ended the 9 stage run of Team Matt493. They are 2 of only 3 teams who have maintained an average of 1000 points per stage.
Rinaldo Nocentini was the top scorer today once again, ahead of Tony Martin, Andreas Kloden, Andy Schleck and Brice Feillu. With a high position in GC out of the question for Mark Cavendish, the stage winner was only the 55th best scorer today.
Stage 9 could well be the turning point of the Fantasy Tour de France. Oscar Pereiro withdrew in Stage 8 and this stage would have been when any reserve riders would replace him in the lineups. Thats good news for knasen as his reserve Pierrick Fedrigo joins his team just as the rider himself wins the stage - but not so good news for the leader matt493 who has no replacement for the former Tour winner. Matt's lead has been cut from over 300 to under 140 since Stage 8.
Eoin's EDTeam are the team on a charge. 2nd place early on, they had slipped to 6th and were 545 points behind matt493 on Stage 7. After Stage 8 that gap was cut to 350 pts, and on Stage 9 to 137. You can see his team here, with his rise being made more remarkable by the fact he chose Denis Menchov.
Nobody selected Rinaldo Nocentini - but perhaps they should have, as he is the top scorer for the day, ahead of Pellizotti and then Tony Martin - the German remaining the top scoring rider overall.
Today, the much-awaited XBOX version of Pro Cycling Manager has been released on XBLA.
There hasn't been much news nor communication on the game from Cyanide, because they weren't sure if the game would pass the approval process (it failed last year, as some may remember). So all we know about the game is what's said on the official website: that there's 15 teams and the 21 stages of the Tour de France, and that you can play online with 3 friends.
But with the game now having been released, I'm sure people will be sharing their experiences very soon ;)
I've been receiving a couple of questions about the downtime that most people experienced - and some still are experiencing - the past few days.
A long story short, we're currently updating the domain name servers (the change should've gone through by now, though). The changes take place up to three times per day and are updated at different times depending on where you live. This means that the site is accessible to some sooner than others, and therefore, some have experienced more downtime than others.
As said, it should now be up for everyone again, and we're sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused (we did place the maintenance on a Tour de France rest day, though ;)).
