Update, 23rd of June: According to some sources, the patch will be available on Friday.
In a forum post on the official forum, Cyanide has revealed a few minor details of the upcoming patch for PCM10. In fact, the post is primarily meant to answer some of the critism that have been directed at Cyanide for not including enough stages with the game.
In response to this, they say that they have been asked to make the patch as small as possible, making it impossible for them to include more stages with the 1st patch. Instead, you will have to wait for the 2nd patch for more stages. The 1st patch is primarely aimed at bug fixes, and according to Cyanide, it has already been sent to 'validation' - meaning that it shouldn't be long before it's released.
For those who have already started a career, it's been mentioned that a tool that can synchronize the DB-differences between the patch's DB and your save games may be provided.
A fine title: Stat Assistants for the PCM.daily DB
As we mentioned on the 12th of June, PCM.daily is currently implementing the prologue stat to its 2010 DB - the first and most time-taking step (well, aside from the re-making of all the races, of course...) of converting the DB to PCM10.
Basically, we need some assistance to fill out the new prologue column for all the riders in the DB. You don't need PCM10 or any editing skills - we'll send you a document with the riders and their current skills - plus an empty column for you to fill out.
We currently have the following countries covered: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Great Britain, Ireland, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Portugal, USA and Germany.
Earlier today, we gave our members another chance to win Pro Cycling Manager 2010, and it's now time to reveal the winner - but before we do so, let's have a look at the runner-ups:
Savo_NCL guessed 13.023 comments, and that's very close - just 63 posts away from the actual number which, at the time, was 12960. Alexkr00 took third with a guess of 12874 while jph27 took fourth, having guessed 13080. The winner? As always, click 'Read More'.
While the Germans and Benelux members have enjoyed the game for a couple of days, it's now time for those who have bought the download version. Several members have reported that the activation keys have been sent a couple of minutes ago - meaning that Nexway is releasing the game 3 hours earlier than announced.
Perhaps, Nexway has learned from Metaboli's mistake: They usually tried to send all the keys at the same time, leading to a breakdown. Hopefully, we're avoiding that this year.
PCM.daily releases simple 1996 DBs for PCM09 and PCM10
A few of you may remember Bernth's 1996 DB for PCM07 - well, we've now ported the most important parts of his project to PCM09 and PCM10, so you can play with Bjarne Riis, Jan Ullrich, Marco Pantani and co. in not only PCM09, but also PCM10 which is 'formally' released during the night between today and tomorrow.
In these DBs, we've included the teams and riders from back then. To be exact, there are 80 teams, 1338 riders (159 free agents) and 96 rider faces. The DBs also come with the needed jerseys, mini shirts and logos. The races included are the ones that come with the original game (although with real names). Same goes with the equipment. It should also be noted that the prologue stat is not taken in use in the PCM10 version.
It's designed for Single Races and the Season Mode in PCM10, and it hasn't been tested in career mode. It should work alright, though, for those who's interested in trying. Enjoy!
