Cyanide gives a few details on the patch
Pro Cycling Manager 2010

Update, 23rd of June: According to some sources, the patch will be available on Friday.

In a forum post on the official forum, Cyanide has revealed a few minor details of the upcoming patch for PCM10. In fact, the post is primarily meant to answer some of the critism that have been directed at Cyanide for not including enough stages with the game.

In response to this, they say that they have been asked to make the patch as small as possible, making it impossible for them to include more stages with the 1st patch. Instead, you will have to wait for the 2nd patch for more stages. The 1st patch is primarely aimed at bug fixes, and according to Cyanide, it has already been sent to 'validation' - meaning that it shouldn't be long before it's released.

For those who have already started a career, it's been mentioned that a tool that can synchronize the DB-differences between the patch's DB and your save games may be provided.

Hang on a second; So to anwser the not-enough-stages-critism (legitimate criticism, in my opinion), they say that they have been asked to make a small patch (by whom?) and that's why they dont give us new stages in the upcoming patch!?

So even after this patch, you'll have a cycling game without (many) stages?

Basicly the weight that cya puts on the shoulders of the pcmcommunity is getting heavier, heavier and heavier... Rolling Eyes

Time to donate more money @ dialy and others, instead of cya XD

There will be more stages, but not until the 2nd patch.

The question, to me, is why they didn't 'hire' more stage makers to begin with. They mention time as the primary reason as to why so few stages are included with the game - well, that time could perhaps have been used better if they had more than two stage makers. And since the two have been doing it for free (I guess?), why did they decide not to hire more stage makers?

Or work more with parts of the incredibly active and productive community pre-release
#4 | CrueTrue on 21. June 2010 15:57
Well, that's the same, really. The two stage makers are both 'community members'.

It guess it is Focus (the publisher) who has asked them to make the patch as small as possible.

Well, they had a ton of stage makers last year who weren't happy at the way Cyanide treated them, so (and I'm just speculating here), it's possible they did invite the stage makers who replied they wanted no part of it

Just cant understand why the game is out this way!
Hoping for a good patch!

what needs to be added to pro cycling manager is 'race radio'. You should have the option of listening to your team manager or the general race director during a stage to determine appropriate tactics etc, or maybe just to know if a favourite is in difficulty or if it is an ideal time to attack!

Why would you listen to yourself? anyway the commentary in english atleast has good enough comments like 'oh he's in trouble' and 'attack!' and so forth.
