PCM 10 Release Day: Yet another chance to win the game
Kami and A_Schleck have been the two lucky people so far in our "Win PCM10"-competitions. We want to find another winner, though, on this day where the PCM10 keys are to be sent out during the night.
I'm not very creative when it comes to competition ideas, though, so this time, you have to guess the amount of comments that have been posted since the opening in 2006 and until now (11:40 CET). This includes comments to news, articles, photos, etc. - but NOT downloads (due to the fact that the internal counter doesn't count them).
As with the previous competition, the one who comes closest wins. Please send your guesses (and usernames) before 21:00 CET today to:
PMs and guesses in the comments section will be ignored.
It should also be noted that today's winner is unlikely to get the key today, so if you're in a hurry to get the game, it's probably better to go ahead and pre-order the game right away ;)
One hour ago, our "Guess the amount of posts"-competition ended. Thanks to Excel, it didn't take long to find the person who had the best guess - but before we reveal the winner, here's the correct answer: 285.593 posts.
Other than the winner, there were two others who were within 10.000: 2nd-placed Crommy (5594 off) and KA_93 (9372 off). The winning guess, however, was 283.087 - just 2506 posts from the correct answer.
... and who's the winner? The 'Read More' button has the answer ;)
Here's your chance to get your hands on Pro Cycling Manager 2010 from the 17th of June (Thursday) AND support PCM.daily at the same time: We've made a deal with the publisher, Focus Home Interactive, which means that we get a part of the income of the sales that comes from PCM.daily.
Since this is the first deal of its kind, we were not able to negotiate a price reduction into the deal, but if we're able to deliver some good results this year, we'll also be able to come up with an even better deal for you next year.
Instead, the main reason to buy the game through PCM.daily is that you support the site. Running this site is very far from being free, and so far, I have been paying for all expenses myself (with the exception of the Google Ads - this covers a rather small percentage). This is not something that I mind, since I consider this a hobby of mine - but obviously, with the costs covered, we'd be able to arrange even more competitions with prizes, like the ones we currently have, where you can win Pro Cycling Manager 2010. And as I said: We may also be able to get you a better deal next year.
A few days ago, we reported that Pro Cycling Manager 2010 had been sold two weeks too early in Germany. Since then, it's been flooding with screenshots, and here at PCM.daily, we've also had the chance to upload the game manuals, thanks to a German member who sent them to us.
And now, it's time for the Dutch people to enjoy the game. Two of our Dutch members have reported that the game is now for sale in Netherlands, two days earlier than the official release date . One specifically mentioned that he had bought it for 45 € in 'Music Store' - and that probably means that we'll soon be seeing even more screenshots.
PCM.daily has finally released the final version of its 2010 DB for Pro Cycling Manager 2009. The package that we've made available this evening makes it possible to update the beta version to the final version. A full package (in .exe) will be available tomorrow afternoon.
From the beta to the final, the main change is the equipment setup. Many of you wanted the old selection screen back, so that's what we've basically done: taken the V1 setup and worked it into the V2. It should be noted that the selectable equipment is not necessarily fully updated as that would require more work than we had time for. It will be completely redone for PCM10, though.
Other than that, some stats have been adjusted, some helmets have been updated to newer versions, we've added some 2010 default race leader shirts, and we've of course also been going through the bug reports and solved what was possible within the short amount of time that we had.
Unless major bugs show up out of nowhere, we're glad to say that this is the final release for PCM09. Personally, I hope that people have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy the work that we've released. On the other hand, we're also looking forward to be playing PCM10 with you in the near future.
