So, with everyone (almost) done opening their presents and eating too much food, we do have one little thing for you: a preview (= very early) version of our 2011 DB.
It contains the updated 2011 rosters, plenty of new shirts, the 2010 rider palmares and a few minor features here and there. So, it's not a huge DB - we've tried to keep this 2011 DB as light-weight as possible. You do need the Expansion Pack V2 and V2.1 installed before-hand, though - and for the same reason, it contains all the features from those DBs (e.g. new scouting zones, lots of new races etc.).
You can get it from this link, but remember to install the Exp Pack V2 and 2.1 before installing the Preview Version of the 2011 DB.
While the PCM10 Stage Editor has made stage making a lot more interesting, there's one thing which has annoyed the stage makers: the missing terrain packs, making it impossible to make stages / races of some countries.
Earlier this year, Cyanide released a pack covering parts of America, Oman, Qatar and Australia, and in the process, they also promised to make more packs available. And luckily for us, Cyanide has a Christmas present for all the stage makers: a new terrain data pack. This 2nd pack is smaller, but still comes with some great and important additions: South Africa, Malaysia (the part where Langkawi is raced), La Réunion and Japan.
Missing the real Japan Cup? Tour of Langkawi? Well, with this pack, the stage makers can finally get to work.
It's time to suit up - the PCM.daily Awards 2010 will soon be starting.
First, we have to find this year's nominees, though. And for the first time in the great history of PCM.daily Awards, it's the members who nominate the contributors. Each member is allowed to nominate up to three members per award. There's a week to do this, and right after this, the voting will begin.
We've also added a bunch of new awards. Since it's now being held in December/January instead of June/July, we have decided to include cycling awards such as Rider of the Year, Team of the Year etc.
While the forum has been quite active, especially when it comes to stories (thanks everyone - keep up the good work!), the main site has slowed down in terms of updating. Not a lot of news, not a lot of new downloads. Hopefully, we're slowly getting back on track, now that the 2011 season is coming up.
With that said, plenty of work has been done on the upcoming 2011 DB. We may be able to release a 'for fun' version this week, but if we don't, here's a couple of screenshots of what's coming up:
In other news: Some may remember that we used to have a yearly award show going on in June or July. Unfortunately, we got tied up with patches, DB releases, patches and more DB releases. Therefore, the award show was postponed - it will be held at the end of this month. Watch this news section for more info - it'll come soonish.
