New "Cyclist Viewer" in PCM11
Want to see how your jersey looks in-game? But you can't be bothered to actually open the game? Fear not, Cyanide has you covered in PCM11.
A new tool called "Cyclist Viewer App" will be available for everyone who wants to use it. It lets you see what the jersey looks like on the new rider model (like the Shirt Viewer featured on the left-hand side of this website), along with the accessories and equipment.
The screenshots show some of the shirts that have been included as "sponsor" shirts for future teams in PCM11. We've uploaded some of them to our screenshot section, and you can see all 16 screenshots here.
Amazon.de "leaks" again - first screenshots of console game
In terms of numbers, Amazon.de has provided the most screenshots of Pro Cycling Manager 2011 for PC. They weren't first, though, but thanks to another "leak" (well, releasing screenshots before the game has been officially announced is some sort of leak...) we now have the very first screenshots of the Tour de France 2011 game for XBOX and Playstation 3.
Edited: The screenshots are now finally available in our screenshot section. Look for the screens starting with "Console"
Along with the screenshots, Amazon has also been nice enough to provide a product description. It fits quite well with the rumours that we've posted previously: It will be possible to play all the 21 stages of the Tour de France, and judged on the screenshots and the text, it does appear like you're playing with one rider only.
For once, it's a Norwegian / not a Saxo Bank-rider who's on the front of the official Scandinavian cover for Pro Cycling Manager (2011). With Thor Hushovd winning the World Championship, they pretty much had to put him on the cover.
Unlike the official cover, the Scandinavian cover usually has a real photo of a rider or a bunch of riders on the front. That tradition goes on this year.
A few days after the first official PCM11 screenshots were released, we have another serving ready for you.
The screenshots were found by EintrachtFan on the German retailer Amazon.de's website. It's just the usual in-game screenshots, showing the peloton in different situations -- but hey, it's something.
Rumour: Be a Pro in Tour de France for XBOX and PS3
One of the most requested features for Pro Cycling Manager is the "Be a Pro"-mode that makes it possible for the player to control one rider instead of directing an entire team. Cyanide has always responded with a "no" to that feature, but according to a member of PCMBenelux, who says that he's been in contact with a beta-tester of the console version of PCM, the game is much like the Tour de France game made by Konami back in 2002.
It's possible to control the rider, and it's possible to crash - just like in Konami's game. Unfortunately, it's said that Tour de France is the only playable race, and it's also said that there's no online multiplayer.
Keep in mind, though, that we have this information from EintractFan who got the info from a Dutch member who says he's been in contact with a beta tester. So the chances of this being 100 % true are quite slim.
However, we like the idea of a more arcade-like game for the consoles.
The game is set to be released on the 16th of June for both XBOX and Playstation 3. The price is currently set to 50 €.
