The PCM.daily Database Team proudly presents the PCM.daily 2024 Database. Our goal, as always, is to give you the best possible experience playing PCM. With a particular emphasis this year on rider attributes, here's what you can expect from the DB:
Major Stat Update
Our stats team has been incredibly hard at work to deliver the biggest attribute overhaul we've had in years. The stamina and resistance stats have been altered the most, with a lower level overall and bigger differences between riders. A lot of thought also went into mountain, medium mountain and hill stats, with a specific eye on making sure stage racers don't overperform in hilly classics such as Liège - Bastogne - Liège, and vice versa. Different types of climbers have been fleshed out, and the hill stats of cobblestone specialists have been refined.
In this process, we have also dropped our long-lasting custom stat minimum from 60 to 55. Through extensive testing and re-adjusting, we believe we have created the environment for the most realistic racing across different terrains that is possible within the PCM AI. You can see some of the outcomes in these screenshots.
With an eye on long-term stat progression, we have also reworked the distribution of rider potentials. Fewer riders now have the highest potential ceiling, which will prevent an overload of elite riders after a few years in career mode.
A More In-Depth Career Mode
As always, one of our biggest aims is to broaden the scope of your PCM gameplay. We add no less than 90 Continental Teams from all over the world, 5 new Development Teams as well as over 3000 Free Agent riders. To accomodate them, we include an additional 3 .Pro races, 18 .1 races, 48 .2 races and 5 .U races. National Championships are also available for every single nation in the game, and all race dates are updated to the 2024 schedule.
There are also more details than ever, some small, some more significant, to make your experience more realistic. Those include correct names for UCI World Tour/Pro Series etc., more realistic training structures and popularities for countries (regarding scouting and rider generation), correct contract lengths for sponsors and riders (capped at 2026), classification files to reflect real-life race rules and the UCI points system, 2023 palmares data for all .WT and many .Pro races, over 170 high-quality custom sponsors (with accessories and NC jerseys), and much more. Click read more for a full list of features.
Improved Visuals
The database includes a ton of additional equipment to make the races look as close to real-life and as appealing as possible. So far as files are available, all teams even down to CT level will have the correct brands for frames, wheels, helmets and glasses. In addition, most helmets have an aero variant for flat stages and a light variant for mountain stages. For some ingame impressions, take a look here.
We also include almost 1.000 rider photos, updated race logos and realistic leader jerseys for all major and most of the minor races, and custom icons for the objectives menu.
More to Come
Even with all that content, there are still some things missing that we plan to add in future updates. For instance, the release currently does not include additional variants for existing races, which will be a priority going forward. Some new riders on CT teams have been added with default (all 55) stats, they will receive more fleshed out attributes. We're also working on more details, such as completing the 2023 palmares data for all minor races and reworking sponsor focus regions for CT teams.
