Without a Story of the Month competition or a Story Spotlight for the time being here is quick flick around some of the happenings in the Story sub-forums. HuDCC and jihardy both hit Page 3 with their stories The New Luxembourg Lion and Fly Emirates-Blackberry, respectively. zuff's The 1980's continues to go from strength to strength hitting another Giro d'Italia in style
Matijn North returns In the Pursuit of Glory by the_hoyle entering the 2015 season. Another return, this time for Karl Hammarling by TMM as Act 8 draws to a close after a summer break. Fabio Melani from cycleman123 completes the one-rider trifecta on PCM13 heading into Le Tour yet again!
Big shout out to all the current stories, i can only fit so many into a brief section like this. However sadness as The Writers Block misses another edition due to the lack of an editor/organiser.
Man-Game May Madness
Okay not quite March Madness but the Management Game enters May full of speed and excitement. The Giro d'Itlia is the first GT of the season and is full of intrigue and action. Cunego goes out to bag perhaps his final GT win, while teams must deal with only having 8 riders on the road. Currently the race is hinged with 6 stage to run, but Damiano is in control for Lotto-Australia Post.
That's not all! Americas premier race the Tour of California is about conclude with Wikipedia's Taylor Phinney looking strong to take the title. We drop a division to the PCT, where Quickstep dominate Dunkerque but Jaguar-Eritel's Azzeddine Lagab took the honors. Finally the Tour of the Middle East, the longest stage race at CT level, concluded after a loooong pause. Vitor Rodrigues of Siam Cement-Lenovo took a slim win ahead of Maxim Iglinskiy, just 7 seconds!
Finally finally do go and look over the Team HQ's as the recent races have brought a wealth of detailed and entertaining updates. Also drop by the most recent PCT/CT Rankings Update as the battles heat up and the divisions shape up!
Story Games Special
The ICL and EPIC continue to make history in terms of community Story Games. The ICL has just completed it's debut season, which saw Gilbert conclude with victory at the World Championships. You can sign up for Season 2 here, and catch up on the Velo d'Or here.
EPIC hits it's first Vuelta, reported by SSJ2Luigi. Movistar got off to a dominating start in Week 1, but yet it's Purito and Froome dueling for top honors at this stage. Good news for youngsters as EPIC creations Birt and Ghita win three stages in a row to validate the young rider programmes. Catch all the action in the official thread here.
Thread of the Week
Tough call for these past two weeks. Lots of World Championships discussion, lots of Transfer discussion. The Cyclocross thread gathers interest. Cafe Pedro continues to fill up at an alarming rate. But i have to give the award to one thread in paticular. I'm With Stupid 2014: Attempt #2 takes the honors! The old favorite community game is back in action with no changes at all, just new life and energy. It's open to all at any time and looks to run right across the off-season. |
