PCT Rankings #2
roturn
February Races

Popo4ever and in especially Pluchkin, who else has really dominated the PCT division this month. Great performances in Ukraine, Portugal, Southland and Hallstatt help them to score almost twice as much as other teams.

Duolingo due to Southland and Portugal also doing well with Binance, cycleYorkshire or Polar following next.

At the bottom Cedevita, Jura, Voyagin and Kraftwerk all rather weak performances and/or not racing a lot lately.

Full Ranking

The two top teams of the month also move up to the top spots of the full ranking. Though Popo4ever already with a gap and the question must be asked...if it`s really the year, they finally promote?

Duolingo actually equal scoring to Red Bull Zalgiris, though on a much lower race days used.

UBS and Bralirwa the other teams on provisional promotion spots while Carrefour, cycleYorkshire, Africa, Binance and Podium Ambition and some others aren`t far off neither.

At the bottom Jura, Kraftwerk and Voyagin not looking too well, that said, they have used a lot less race days as the top teams but not that much less than the teams ahead...oinly Assa Abloy and Tryg also look in danger due to their scoring and race days used for it.

Still all wide open as the race days used vary between 11 and 41 at that point.

Individual Ranking

No surprise that Pluchkin and Borges lead the table. Both surely could do well in the PT as well, same for the following riders Stallaert, Ponzi, Manninen, Bobrdige, Wellens, Van Stayen, Beltran or Keizer. What a list of PCT riders!

Nothing too special from us in February leads to an expected fall in the rankings. Pprd looking quite bad, also knowing the race we are currently in is not giving us any points so far. Let's hope Manninen can become the great one again and our other leaders step it up a bit Smile

Still projected to challenge for the title :lol::lol:

I did think Tour of Ukraine brought us more than 85 points, but apparently not. Still it's a good return for the RD used and a rider of AC's skills. And 5 points from Hallstat is way above our expectation.
For the long term, to see us ahead of Los Pollos with half their RD count is positive. These are the battles we need to be on the right side of now before we slip backwards in the climbing races.

And there's Alex Mayer in all his individual glory! Clearly this unmaxed Mauritian Neo-Pro is a Top25 division rider Banana

Still in the danger zone, but at least our PPRD is up. Gamper as our best rider is probably not a good thing.

Thanks for the update!
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

Thanks for the update!

I said I wanted to go up but we dropped even closer to the relegation zone. We need to start picking up major results soon

So, things look bad at first glance; but maybe in context they aren't quite as horrendous? We have completed nearly a quarter of our race days, but hardly any of them have seen either Wellens or Skujins riding in them. With the added acknowledgement that Skujins results in Australia should be unrepresentative of his coming season, and that Wellens has thus far only ridden in the PTHC, there is some hope for survival yet. I hope.

February was a nothing month for us. 5 RDs used with Omloop where I don't have cobblers and Ukraine where the 15 pts scored were more than expected Pfft

No suprise we fall down into relegation spots, but ppRD is still very good. Mainly down to Beltran and his performance in Hong Kong. Other important scoring races are coming that will decide how we do and how much we will require Beltran to carry us. For now I'm remaining optimistic Smile

Thanks for the update roturn and everyone who helped and reported the races so far Smile

We still haven't caught momentum, eventhough Anderberg and the cobbles have been great so far, and well above expectations. There has simply been too many "weak" races for us, which was also expected seeing our lineups. The ongoing Barbados is another one of those races, but from then on, we will hopefully start to score bigger in races, led by Kwiatkowski. We really need him to do well if we're going to challenge for promotion and maybe the title.

Thank you for the update!

Tachira hurts our pprd quite a bit, but things should be back to 20 pprd as March will be a pretty big month with Pais Vasco for another Keizer + Brandle annihilation of competition and Barbados + Juarez for Halvorsen. Maybe even Dyrnes continuing his fine form and doing some madting in Colombia. Important to grab as many points early as our schedule is pretty front and back loaded with not much in the middle

Bad month for us on paper, but that was mostly expected. Would have liked to have scored more in the cobbled classics, but Ukraine was never a race we were lining up hard for. Elswhere others raced and we didn't. Obviously we were also in Tirreno for this period, and while it doesn't count for points, we did very well on the big stage. So while this seems like an empty month, I think that was sufficient evidence that we're still rolling well and haven't actually fallen off a cliff like the standings make it seem

Huge couple of months ahead as Guldhammer will start his PCT races and the cobbled classics season will really start to heat up. I'm gonna try to not think too much about the standings until we reach May.

We’ve been in three races so far and are on the borderline of the relegation Zone amongst teams with many more race days, so looking good so far. Jensen a massive help in Portugal. Two leaders haven’t even begun their seasons for us yet so I have high hopes for climbing out of relegation, but Howard keeps finding ways to be fucking shit so we shall see.

The fact that we're still hanging around the Top 5 (eventhough not by PpRD anymore) is still amazing Grin We will continue to drop, but the head start we have will hopefully go a long way in what I still think will be a battle against relegation. But I'm happy to be proven wrong Grin

Certainly a better month for us, certainly feels like we are getting our season up and running with a couple of decent but not spectacular results in Feb. We certainly still need to improve our PPRD but I'm sure there are better races for us later in the year.

Pluchkin really is a cheat code for the PCT division even now and Popo4Ever look to be favourites for promotion now with Prevar scoring well in Southland.

First of all I would like to apologize for my absence from the forum lately. Unfortunately, some personal problems led me to take a step away from everything that is not essential to life. Matters that are resolved and I'm back.

After a first month that was not very positive for the team, it seems that we have come back on top and managed to win enough points that allow us to move away from the bottom of the table.
A lot is due to the great start of the season by Jose Fernandes, who got good results and looks set for another good result in Jelajah.
The projections put the team to finish in the middle of the table, which is where we would like to finish in this transitional season.

Our PPRD has changed from 11.91 to 11.92, so we have at least been consistent this month, just got to hope it will end up being enough to stay up.

4 riders in the top 50 is a good sign our depth is working out so far.

I knew we were bad, but still didn't expect it THAT bad. Only 3 CT teams scored less points so far - that sums it up quite well. At least it isn't too hard to find some reasons; our "leaders" so far definitely weren't up to their task:

Nairo (600k): 0 points (Pro Hallstatt disaster, inexplicable)
Reinhardt (260k): 40 points (1x Top 5 in 13 RDs; PCM20 likes him less than PCM18, and trains look to be even much more of a disadvantage than in the previous version)
Boudat (90k): 0 points (in 6RDs, +4 in Jelajah where he looks to be 100% useless as well)
Rekita (100k): 0 points (in 6RDs, +4 in Jelajah -> c.f. Boudat)
Lienhard (90k): 0 points (in 11RDs, 100% useless so far, and Jelajah doesn't look to be any different as well)

Masnada and Moscon have been OK so far, with the former doing a great job in HK and then clearly below par in Ukraine, and the latter having done only Southland so far, with a GC Top 10.
What sums up how bad some of our "leaders" perform is the fact that Schmid has scored 6 points more than Nairo, Boudat, Rekita and Lienhard combined so far...

What hurts most is that our sprinters are really bad so far. For Reinhardt, that's either a PCM-related issue, or he just punched way above weight last year (he surely did, but given his results against PCT competition, he still does a bad job so far). Boudat, no clue - clearly worse sprinters have already won stages this year ^^
For Quintana, it's clear that Hallstatt wasn't his preferred race, given his rather low hill stat, but with his resistance and climbing abilities, there's no way he should finish outside the Top50. Except with a -20 daily form maybe. If it remains his only bad race of the year, that's still OK, but I fear it won't...
Biggest disappointment for me personally is however Lienhard. He has such a nice statline, but has not been able to make use of it neither last year nor this year so far. Really got no clue why, and that sucks.

Well, everyone saw us going down pre-season, so it's no surprise we already took the red lantern now. We won't need a major rebuild fortunately, and our MMM threat (Moscon, Masnada, Mäder) should do well in CT next year. But most of the riders getting 50-100k will have to leave if they can't do anything useful all season long.

Congrats to P4E on your great start - really looks to be possible to go up this time! PPP should be able to get you that promotion spot!

Sounds like my first season in PCT, we were easily the worst team all season with outgunned leaders so I definitely feel that.

Looking at your squad you have some nice riders who should be good in CT next season and that shouldn't demand too high wages so it's not all bad, just going to have to aim for good value in your 50-100k riders next season to get a title contender instead of promotion candidate.
