Welcome to the HQ of Repsol - Netflix, a Spanish PCT Team
In 2019 we failed to avoid relegation in our first season in Pro Tour, so we are back in PCT two seasons after promoting
This year we've kept all our principal sponsors, with Repsol being on his third season as naming sponsor, and Netflix on its second. With no sponsor changes, we decided to keep the same jersey that we had in 2018 and 2019, created by Norwegian designer Hillis91
Honda apart from being a secondary sponsor for the team, will provide the team cars, and also rider's cars
Fuji will be our bike supplier
MegaPlus will provide the team with supplements and nutrition products
Suomi will be the helmet supplier for this season

Given our goals situation in 2019 (1/5 completed), avoiding a renewal fine was key for the approach to the off-season, and given our relegation, we were forced to remove 1M in wages. Obviously an easy choice was to kick out Alarcon of the team, so that's 860k out of the books. We also let Rafael Serrano and Jonathan Castroviejo go, as they started to decline and don't have the qualities anymore for a guaranteed deal with the team
Merhawi Kudus despite his training last season, agreed to a 90k wage reduction, going under half a million, finally getting a wage he's fully worth of. Sep Vanmarcke also saw a decent wage reduction, but the biggest deal of our off-season was Marlen Zmorka. The Ukranian lowered his salary from 575k to 320k (we hope for future seasons to lower it more), a huge 255k reduction.
Other wage reductions came with Nizzolo (from 125 to 100), Ndayisenga (from 110 to 80) and Gonzalez Salas (from 75 to 65).
The only two wage increases came from talents development. Dunbar is stlll one step away from full growth, and saw his wage raised by 5k. But Jaime Roson, now fully maxed (our first rider fully developed in Repsol history), gets a huge 70k raise.
Overall, around 500k wage reduction without counting Alarcon, which leaves us with 380k free wage cap and already 20 riders under contract

It's quite apparent that you with the current squad might not be looking for direct promotion, but with the open cap space and clever dealings you should be able to make a strong push.

Well, i promoted with this core group two season ago (changing Zmorka for Bystrom, where Zmorka should score a lot of more, and Nizzolo for Roelantds, who are similar quality sprinters), obviously we are using a different PCM. I'm quite sure with the right moves i can at the very least be in the promotion fight

Great renewals for you! Looks like you should be in a good position going into the transfer season.

For sure I see you battling for the promotion spots.
One or two reinforcements and a bit of squad tinkering, and you should be well set

Alarcon could be a big loss in this division but a solid squad remains. Good luck this season and will be an interesting transfers for you

We'll surely be in talks in transfer season, I feel like I have some very interesting ideas for both of us.

Kudus' wage is exactly the amount I have available after renewals. Coincidence? I think not.

It's 40k more than I have available, pretty sure my thing is more prophetic
Aquarius, you still owe me an amount I have estimated to be in the millions for sabotage-related damages, the last you can do is give me Kudus for minimum fee

11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Exactly, that's the last thing i'll do
@Alexkr Mmmm...
@Croatia Can't wait to hear those ideas then
@Aidan Yeah, not sure why i get the feeling a lot of people are interested in them
@TheHoyle Alarcon is the opposite of a loss tbh, and the sole reason we are back in PCT
@Redordead Yeah, that should be the goal for the season, promoting right away
@Tastasol Quite happy with the renewal proccess yeah

5 levels of availability; Yes, Likely, Maybe, Unlikely and Very Unlikely
In the Very Unlikely we have what i consider the core of the team, specially moving forward. This doesn't mean it's 100% certain they'll stay, we'll listen to offers, but we'd only take a very important one. Here we have superstar Merhawi Kudus, newly maxed Jaime Roson and future stage racer Eddie Dunbar
In the Unlikely, we have guys that are part of the core, but their abilities might not fit 100% into the team. Here we have top TT rider Marlen Zmorka and newly maxed Cristian Rodriguez
In the Maybe, we have riders that are still young and have decent wage/stats ratio, but we wouldn't cry their loss. At the start of transfers, we won't actively try to find new teams for these guys. They are Mario Gonzalez Salas, Vuelta stage winners Jacopo Mosca and Carlos Barbero, Jesus Herrada, and Irish talents Matthew Teggart and Michael O'Loughlin
In the Likely, we have basically Spanish riders that are decent, but if any other team wants them, we'll be happy to negotiate their exit. They are Miguel Angel Benito, Lluis Mas, Fabien Taillefour, Antonio Pedrero, Jon Ander Insausti
In the Yes, we have riders that either don't fit anymore with the team plans, either close to decline age, or have enough quality to get cash from them without being detrimental to the core. They are Sep Vanmarcke, Jakub Novak, Valens Ndayisenga and Giacomo Nizzolo
Important to say that none of these riders are 100% guaranteed to leave the team, and everyone's status can change very quickly during transfers

Well that's Dunbar gone from being the top name on my targets list then, can't see me being able to offer a significant enough sum to tempt you to sell... |
