I would like to hear about your best riders ever in Pro Cycling Manager.
I am curious, because in my recent savegame I developed a beast, who achieved results I have never seen anything like before.
So now I want you all to share your best riders ever, and I thought maybe we could find the best rider in the history of the game.
I can start.
Game: Pro Cycling Manager 2017.

2x All three jerseys in one Giro d’Italia
3x Giro-Vuelta double
6x Tour-Vuelta double
2x Giro-Tour double
It is not really important how it was done, but I can also tell you a bit about it.
The difficulty in 3D mode was ‘hard’, and I played with the PCM17 Expansion Pack.
Through the entire savegame I only drove the five monuments and approximately one third of the Grand Tour-stages in 3D-mode. Everything else was simulated. I did that to make it as realistic as possible – even though it maybe did not work. For the same reason Robbiano never participated in three Grand Tours in the same season, and I never tried to win a race with him, if someone in my team had a bigger chance to win – and my team was truly remarkable.
I was quite lucky when it comes to crashes and injuries. Robbiano only withdrew from a Grand Tour three times in his career.
I was forced to stop playing in December 2037 due to technical problems. Robbiano wasn’t going to end his career yet, even though he was at the time 37 years old – what he would have won in the next season(s) we’ll never know.
Now it’s your turn. Let me hear about your best rider! |

You definitely can!
Most of his career he was only the third or fourth best climber in the world, but the flat-, time trial- sprint- and restitution-stats were more than enough to beat the competitors. |

Pretty decent stats. Not too dominant. Kinda look like Dumoulin in my save except worse prl.

Same here, looks like Dumoulin in my savegame but with worse PRL but also RES STA FL COB
I never got more than 4 seasons, I'm still playing btw and I'm on 2022, but I race 3D every stage so I'm taking very long with careers.
My best performances until now can be a double Giro-Vuelta for both Dumoulin (2020) and Landa (2021) and 8 stage wins in a single TdF by Cavendish reaching Merckx at 38 in total (and after that he never won in other years and now is retiring at parity)
Another good one is Jakob Eriksson that won 3 times TdF KOM and he is starting his 4th TdF at 22
Another interesting results is Colbrelli that won 2 WC

Same here but I only tend to play all 3D games if my main captain is there.
The best rider I've had must be a ukranian guy called Popovic (I call him the modern De Vlaeminck). He has won 4 Milano-San Remo, 3 Lombardia, 2 WCs, 1 LBL, 1 Gent Wevelgem, 7 tdf stage wins (2 youth gc, 1 points gc, 3rd overall), 4 giro stage wins, 3 vuelta stage wins, 3x Dwaars, 1x Strade Bianche, 1x overall GC Catalonya, 3x ukranian road championship, 3x stage wins Paris Nice (2nd overall), 2x stage wins Dauphine, 1x classic quebec, 1x classic montreal... been in top 5 RVL 2 times and top 3 Paris Rubaix 2 times only beaten by Sagan and Benoot.. 22 years old, about 55 wins... and counting.. He is still soooo young!

For years, the limit of a career game has been the year 2037. At least i don't that anyone has been able to go through 2038.
And about the topic of the thread, i've never played a career for long enough to develop this kinda of beasts

Holy shit. That sounds like an insane versatility. And he has won eight monuments - four Milano-Sanremo - when he is only 22?! Unbelieveable! |

Very interested in this as well. Even though I'm playing PCM15, I'd like to share the career progress of following rider. Currently aged 23 and he's not the very best rider, but I enjoy playing with him very much as he turned pro with my team.
I'll include his current stats later on.
Name: | Eder Chávarri | Rider type: | Climber | Country: | Spain - Basque Country | Current # wins: | 9 | | 1x Mountain Jersey TDF | | 1x Stage TDF | | 2x Stage Vuelta | | 1x La Flèche Wallonne | | | | 2x GP Miguel Indurain | | 1x Stage Ruta del Sol | | 1x Stage Tour of Austria | | 1x Stage Tour of Portugal |

When I was first experimenting with PCM14 having downloaded Lachi's Editor, I made a Kiwi rider called Joe Bloggs with all 90 stats. Not 85 but 90. So I'd say him.
Or one of Ian Butler's allegedly "All 85s" riders in his stories
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Piergiorgio Robbiano's palmares is certainly impressive. I have a couple of Pro Cyclist riders who could probably match his win record if even I didn't get bored after a while. I have a puncher, Jean Collet, with 216 wins at the end of the 2023 season (7th season), despite minimal support from an always weak FDJ team. With HIL 83, FLA 75, MON 75, COB 75, SPR 72, ACC 83 he can and will win just about anything except Paris-Roubaix and the TdF.

Lucky shot, I guess.
Though it is by far one of my favourite style riders.
I also had a rider once with both good GC and cobble skills. Sort of a Museeuw/Ullrich combo.

I was thinking the same, it's somewhat hilariously crazy how incredibly fast they can develop sometimes, but I guess anybody could wind up being the next Merckx?
Side note, Coiffard has actually taught me that if you have great hill stats and only okay mountain stats, you can still win GTs very effectively if you ride more aggressively.
