A number of CT teams went to the Tour of America this month, and four teams did actually earn a greater amount of PpRD there than their season long average: Aeropostal, Telia, Wiggle and Garmin.
But the month's top scorers were In-n-Out, after they took victory in the key Tour of Britain race. Azteca also had a good month, winning Milano Torino after picking up some handy HC points in Colombia, and also doing well in Britain.
Aeropostal and Telia do come next, with Xero as the 5th best team of the month and Reddit in 6th - certainly more inspite of their ToA performance, rather than because of it.

This month from In-n-Out certainly puts some pressure on CT leaders World Cycling Centre. Their lead down to just 74 points, and with 3 CTHC races to come in the final month, there is still a battle to be had.
Kulczyk may no be out of it either in 3rd, and are looking good for promotion. Xero and Philips have swapped positions for the final two spots there, but must look over their shoulders with Azteca closing in, Reddit gaining two places, and Repsol and cycleYorkshire being not far away either. The identity of the Top 5 guaranteed promotion positions is not set yet, and time will tell just how many more will have the chance to promote also - so every position will count.
Goldcorp in 10th are the only remaining team projected to pass 1000 points, while Campari and Sauber have swapped places in 11th and 12th. Telia moved up to 14th, and Aeropostal 15th, following their ToA rides. Garmin also on the up, two spots to 20th - with Eddie Stobart in reverse, down two to 22nd.
Statoil almost doubled their points tally this month, from 110 to 202, giving themselves a chance of overhauling VMP to avoid last position.

Just 14 points separates the Top 2 in the individual standings, with Anthony Roux using September to close the gap on Rafael Valls. Both with two races remaining, Valls has the opportunity to strike first at Colombian Venteaux.
Van der Hugenhaben's British performance lifts him from 14th to 3rd, with Boily holding 4th at the expense of Penasa. Chaves climbs one spot, while Monfort enters the Top 10.
Granjel Cabrera sprints up from 38th to 16th after ToA, while De Marchi has gone from 53rd to 25th.

145 points to make up to Azteca, to get the 6th place, which secure a promotion place. While there's a little chance that Valls on his own could get those 145 points, and then add some points from Kneisky and Gilbert in HST and Zuri, Azteca and Reddit will score some points too. So more likely that it will be all about trying to defend the 8th place from Yorkshire and Goldcorp.
Anyway, it's likely to not be a lot of good FA talent in next season market, so not the best year to promote, and even less if your promoting team is composed of 1 PCT decent climber and 4-5 domestiques/talents, needing another 15 riders and several PCT scorers
Now, thinking of the Individual Crown. I would say that Valls has around 75-80% chances of winning it. Roux has two races, but one is Solidarnosc, so unless he goes crazy in the KoMs, he can only get to 670 if he wins Zuri (and that's already asking too much for his <60 sprint). And the only way that Valls doesn't reach 58 points between Venteaux and East Java is if he crashes out of one (or even both) races. I believe that Valls with go over 700 points, and hopefully reaching the double-digits number of wins this season
Thanks for the update SN!

Well there goes our top15
In all seriousness July brought those Top15 expectations so now we're just back to a normal month, just a little worst. There are indeed 5 races left to score some points but that goal is impossible by now, even 16th looks way too far off, so, will be the fight to preserve 17th
Thanks as always SN for the update!

Well we had a good month but still not an amazing season so far! Maybe we can step it up but it won't be enough this season. We will continue to build over the off season for next year!

Still in promotion spots, barely, after a so-so September. I don't like my planning for October, so I'm not very hopeful of hanging on to 5th. Venteaux itself might see Azteca catching up or even going past us. Hope to hang in some way.

I'd wonder how a crash-free Britain would do us but so many teams have suffered so much there's no point
Hope for surprises in what is, for us, a poorly-planned flat double header and the two C1 races that make up our apparent nice buffer in projected Top 5 is all I ask, missing out on that would be crap, disband-promo or not Hope for Philips to stay 5th (behind us!) but I like all those managers below too - however it goes, thanks for a great season guys!
Would be cool to see a four-win October (Penasa-Mullen-Sprinter-Vichot) for Kulczyk, not done the maths but could make the title fight very interesting from that angle

Thanks for the update. September was a disappointing month, but scraping up points here and there pretty much secured our 7th place. Now it's time to see if we can still gain any positions; Philips seem secured to me with good squads at Herald and Soli, so Xero or Azteca will have to flop for that to happen.
Still not sure if I'm happy with a promotion spot though, with a one-trick pony team and an overpermorming but strongly declining Monfort, it might turn out to be a disaster... |

The Top4 look nicely set as the Top4, although might be some switching i expect WCC to hold #1. 5 and 6 is very open, although #6 is a guaranteed promotion spot again this season so it's a pride fight.
The big question becomes, how many promotion spots will there be. It's close for 7-9 and could easily swing around with a few good/bad results respectively. I'd definitely want to grab that 7th spot as i can't see much hope of that many teams dissapearing, and even then 7th is no certainty this year.
In the way the MG seems to work, we'll get more disbandments in CT than elsewhere which won't help those teams in the chase for promotion.

This is the update we were fearing, as it's the first one that rules us out of the disband promotion push. Hopefully Salleh can at least maintain his spot as top Sprinter until the end of the season and we can find some more scoring ahead of another attempt at a promotion push next season.

Abysmal month mainly coming down to #RouxGate. Honestly as long as we stick it out in top 10 we're fine coming towards the end of the season. Goal was top 15 for the season and that's way in reach.

Hey don't blame Roux. You were just an unlucky part of the latest instalment in #RepsolGate

A good month for Azteca, but overall isn't looking so great anymore with only an acceptable showing in Venteaux and the reality of being down to on more race for Chaves to really have a chance of scoring points.

Pleased with our situation safely inside the top 5, but it's not over til the fat lady sings. Looking more and more likely that we won't have anything for the number one spot though. Congrats to all managers near the promotion zone, it's been a really interesting and fun first season for Kulczyk!

Catching up on MG again after being out of commission over the weekend. The latest CT standings of course make happy reading for WCC team personnel! The pre-season 'push-for-promotion' decision-making basis seems to have borne fruit. While the title race is still wide open with important races yet to come in October, think it is finally safe to conclude that promotion has been achieved . Given that the sacrifices required to do so mean that WCC can only field half of an Avenir team in our own right (as opposed to a full team last year), the gamble seems to have paid off even if there is pain still involved.
The underlying multi-leader approach seems to have been a success with 3 riders in the top 20 of the individual rankings, and JAC just hovering outside with a crucial outing at the imminent Polish sprint fest still to come. Speaking personally, Sam Harrison has been the biggest surprise for WCC, as I envisaged a points haul of around 200 from him when he signed, so far exceeded pre-season expetations. This is in part balanced by the fact that Harrison benefited from some lacklustre cobbled classic racing which alternatively hampered Bush's potential. Given the plan was always that they would work in tandem, has still worked out excellently overall. We spent big money in the transfer market on Boily, but this seems to have paid off. The puncheur field has been of very high quality in CT this year, and although not securing many victories, Boily has been a picture of consistency in terms of harvesting ppRD.
Elsewhere, In-n-Out (my pre-season favourites) are still mounting a strong title challenge, and the ongoing Herald Sun Tour could prove crucial in terms of whether or not they overhaul us in the table. Kulcyk have had a brilliant debut season and will be deserving of a PCT place next season, while still with an outside chance of taking the title. Below tha there is quite a fight brewing up over the remaining guaranteed promotion spots, made even more important given the potential for minimal 'disband' promotions which in previous seasons have been much higher in number. Bon chance to all those still involved!
For those at the tail-end of the table who are still active, chapeau. Some highlights to enjoy (i.e. Suaza's recent emphatic victory on home soil for Eddie Stobart), and bright future's ahead (Statoil for example has a roster with a number of exciting talents which guarantees there lowly position is unlikely to ever be repeated).
Hopefully have managed to participate in the vast majority of individual race discussion, although aware of a couple of slip-ups on my behalf. Seems as good a time as any then to once more offer up heartfelt thanks to our top quality MG reporters and behind-the-scenes 'staff' .
