With previous leaders almost the lowest scoring team of the month, there is no surprise to see WCC regain top spot. Kulczyk climb to 2nd, and In-n-Out slipping to 3rd, and perhaps having to look over their shoulders now. Philips up to 4th, 1 point ahead of cycleYorkshire. Repsol out of the Top 5, but not by much.
Eddie Stobart the biggest climbers, gaining 3 positions for Suaza's victory in Bulgaria.

World Cycling Centre lead after another month then. A strong position to be in, but Kulczyk and In-n-Out are keeping the chase up. Philips too, strengthening their hold on 4th with a strong month.
Xero rise two positions to 5th, and also past the 1000 point marker. Azteca on the up too, to 6th place - as we see Repsol and cycleYorkshire drop down. Reddit into the Top 10 now in 9th. PpRD wise they are looking good, but can they sustain that at the Tour of America? They are the best CT team present - the other 7 CT teams in the race are in the bottom 10 positions of the standings.
Sauber slip to 11th, while Wiggle and Aeropostal swapped positions. SanCor back ahead of Eddie Stobart. Statoil have made it past 100 points, at last!

We seem to be in a good place to finish between 7th and 10th, which would make the possible disband promotion spots, and obviously having already secured our Top15 ranking goal, which makes our season a total success, with 5/5 on goals.
Roux's too close for my liking in the Individual ranking, as he could already take the lead at the end of September and force Valls to perform above his level in East Java to retake the lead at the end of the season.
Also, the Individual rankings shows how much of a one-rider team we are, with Valls scoring almost 70% of our points, and only 3 riders with 25 or more points at this point of the season (although with Paris-Tours result we have added another rider to that list ). Which also speaks for Cunego's pathetic season, to have only 24 points...
Thanks for the update!

DAMN I'M EXCITED FOR THE PROMO FIGHT. Also, Roux in second - good enough for you yet Shonak? Thanks for the update SN - hope us and Philips stay 4th and 5th - wouldn't say no to an order change
24/02/21 - kandesbunzler said “I don't drink famous people."
15/08/22 - SotD said "Your [jandal's] humour is overrated"
11/06/24 - knockout said "Winning is fine I guess. Truth be told this felt completely unimportant."

Thanks for the update, Campari have positioned in mid field surely to late for promotion but that was expected. Could have hoped for a bit more from Gatto, but no more that the points we got from other unexpected results, during the season.

Well somehow Azteca has scratched their way into a position to at least strike at the top five. Chaves is far higher into the individual rankings than I would have ever guessed.
Only two months left to really find some points.

Ok so much stuff to digest
First of all, awesome to have both months showed at once, made the wait worth while.. Thanks for the update SN!
It is pure contrast, July was our best month (in terms of consistency), we were in 4 races and scored on all of them, and enjoyed quite a bit of "success" after a very disapointing June..
And in August, the o-pointer sums it up preety well We were expecting to score in Benelux but very soon I realized it wouldn't happen, and in Canada there wasn't nothing out to grab..
Anyway, climbing to 14th, it's amazing I didn't tihnk it would be possible after we got down to 16th, but now it looks like we are still in contention for the Top15 (goal) and it's quite motivating to see that the team IS able to pull off some good points sometimes.
Again, WCC is going very strong, Reddit in the Tour of America, it will also be exciting to see how it goes, and in general things are going as normal for the top squads, it's a constant learning process that may result in a better performance for us next season.

4th place. Looks good here but a long way to go yet, especially with the races coming up. Benelux was a dream result though
I think it'll be more a case of us hanging on and hoping two teams don't catch us rather than us cementing our spot in the direct promotion spots. We need a surprise result somewhere for that.
Spoiler So far, September has not been promising. Jandal's wish has already been realized I think

Thanks for the update. So even if the ToA risk fails miserably, which is quite likely... We should still be 7th and have a shot at climbing in October. That certainly will make me follow the ToA with a bit less pressure.
Still sad about Simon crashing out in 2nd in Benelux though, what a month it could've been |

Wow, didn't realise Havik and Vichot would be up in the top 10! Aside from that, I'm just incredibly pleased with the consistency of point-scoring from Kulczyk riders throughout the season. I'd really like to hang onto that top 5 rider goal so Penasa needs to perform extremely well in Colombia.
It'll be interesting to see the rest of the direct promotion spots shake out, and even the indirect promoters. I'm just happy to say Kulczyk - DMTEX has avoided that stress early.
Thanks for the update SN.

As they'd say in the A-Team when I was a kid "I love it when a plan comes together!" . Starting to feel reasonably safe in terms of securing the 'push-for-promotion' season objective as we are right into the 1500-1600 point bracket that I identified pre-season as being necessary. In terms of individual performances, our classics unit has contributed a bit more than envisaged to make up for the sprinters being a bit below (although a few good races still to come for them). Puncheurs right on track, and mountains, what are they?
Focus now is on whether we can hold of the challengers for the title. Both Kulyck and In-n-Out are on a rampage in September, and other challengers also have opportunities.
Query for the MG old-hands, has anyone won the CT title more than once before?

As yet, no team has ever finished in the Top 7 of the CT and then later returned to the division. So, no!
PT is the only division which a team/manager has won more than once.

Not quite the same, but Spilak managed to finish second with Iberia in 2013, disbanding, and then winning with Ferrerro last year.

As yet, no team has ever finished in the Top 7 of the CT and then later returned to the division. So, no!
PT is the only division which a team/manager has won more than once.
It could be a nice analysis to look at the progression of the teams from their debut ranking to now and see how much the first season matters in determining later success. Just saying in case some guys might have some free time on their hands.
