Promotion: Isostar keep the lead, but see Berg and Grieg close the gap, as Newton slipped down. Fablok hold onto 5th, ajead of the rising Generali.
Relegation: Good month for MOL, closing the gap to Netia and Valio but still staying in the bottom 5. Minions also in contention, but the other three are further adrift - although Compal move off bottom spot.

We have a change at the top, as Berg Cycles' month has been enough for them to move ahead of Isostar. The gap only 42 points, with Grieg 3rd and within 200 points. All three looking likely to promote.
More of a fight behind, UBS up to 4th, with Newton still sliding to 5th. Orange finally making gruound and now 6th, ahead of Fablok, Ferrero, Generali and Indosat.
Mid-field is very close. Just over 300 points from 11th to 20th, and it might not take much for any of them to drop into the relegation zone. After all, the team now in 20th are Minions, rising 3 places and out of that zone.
Valio now into the drop zone, but within 50 points of Netia. MOL have a good PpRD, but as with the other teams around the 100 RD mark, we now wait to see what the Tour of America brings. Another change at the bottom too, Ticos off it - Haute Route into it.

Ok so Nelson's total collapse in Baltic might have just put us into a really dangerous position... Two bad months as we sent out a lot of weak squads for XP reasons and just routes that didn't suit us. Then on the route that did suit we ended up with next to nothing because of unknown reasons...
That our best rider is Marcus in 41st... and that Yates and Talansky are way ahead of our sprinters... clear to see what's been going wrong. Just not good enough at all. Gave away large numbers of points during the main cobbles phase, and Ricki and Caleb have just struggled. When an unmaxed 76HL rider is out third best scorer there are big problems...
The upside, because there is always an upside. We have already scored more points than 4 teams total predictions. That would put us in the final drop position already, and we've still got some racing to do. Some of which might go well. 1950 i think would see us safe, 2000+ would make us very safe. That's not far beyond our ability as a team, just a small increase in results, or at least not completely flopping on the flat, would get us over the line.
We should still make it, as i think a couple of out competitors will be in America and that might just hold them back enough. It's not going to be comfortable but not a last day drama either.
God we've gone from upper-mid table comfort early on, right down to dancing on the trap door. If we stay safe i'll be very happy but with a lot of work to do and a bigger rebuild than i'd like. Lets just survive this big year of XP hunting and growing, get Ewan and Yates maxed out and ready to train. But boy, this is far too close for comfort given out current lack of form...
Positive... stay positive... We are still just about in control of our own destiny!

Dropping two spots each month is good enough. July was always going to be bad with only one race (and especially with Waeytens leading us in it). Baltic Chain Tour was a lifesaver in an otherwise subpar August. Our PPRD is dropping rapidly, but with only two months left in the season, it could be enough. A few more teams will catch us, maybe even the Minions, but they can't all score that big.
Then again, we're mostly relying on Waeytens from now on, and he scored just 55 points so far..
Tom Van Asbroeck in the top 10 is great, great season for him so I hope he can stay there as a reward. I would even nominate him for PCT rider of the year if it wasn't for EBH dominating the hills.
Changed my sig, this was getting absurd.

No points for Isostar in Monterrey? Anyhow, things starting to look good for us, especially considering we have EBH in almost half the RDs remaining.
Still five teams with a clear pprd gap down to Orange, Fablok and Ferrero. Guess we will have to see how Newton goes in Tour of America, otherwise I would be surprised if they can get inside the promotion zone.
Pretty close at the bottom as well. I'm a fan of several of the teams involved, so will be very interesting to see how it works out...
Thanks for the update, SN.

The update I've been waiting for, finally a table that shows us in a good position. Not totally safe yet but we have everything in our own hands.
July wasn't the best of months, so let's quickly move on to August, where we had an absolutely amazing month. Not only Úran's Deutschland victory, who now moves up to 11th individual which is great, but also stage wins in Portugal and the Baltic. Third-highest scoring team of the month!
Thanks for the update SN.

Not sure why Isostar's TTT points are missing. Will fix that tomorrow evening - probably means that Isostar just about hold on to the lead.

Isostar should have 45 points in Monterrey surely? Anyway, come on Isostar, should definitely be promoting now, amazing! Netia hopefully can finish strong and stay up too! With Valio, Netia and Minions I'd be sad to see either of them be the fifth team going down Thanks for the update(s) SN

Well, we finally started catching up on race days in August, and they weren't especially kind to us, that's for sure. Appo crashing out of Baltic and a lot of empty days in Portugal didn't help I suppose, but I didn't expect much more anyway.
While we've made it the whole year without actually being in a relegation position, it has still yet to be decided. The standings have been decieving because the gaps are so very small. Anything could happen, and I'm certainly not counting on us fending off relegation just yet.
With that being said, we have 21 crucial race days in America coming up, and their improtqance cannot be overstated. We took a huge risk in going there, and we have Garby and Bertillsson as our leaders, which is very far from a sure thing points wise. Especially with all the TT kilometers, we really need a lot of stage results to secure our place in PCT next year. So let's do it I guess!

Oh fuck. Two of my favourite pct teams in Valio and Netia look to be competing for the final save spot. Really hope that both can overtake one of the teams ahead of them.
Meanwhile Isostar secured promotion. Congrats!

Couldn't agree more. I hope both can come up with a great spring (races look as if they were made for the combination of a great pure puncheur and a great pure sprinter, so perfect!).
Meanwhile Isostar secured promotion. Congrats!
Couldn't agree less. Yes, we are looking decent, but no, there are plenty of HC and PTHC races to come and we'll struggle to reach 3000 points. That may be enough - we hope it will - but it could also be just outside the needed zone. Top 9 teams still compete for direct promotion in my opinion.

Thanks for the update. It really looks like a wide open battle for promotion at this point, I could see any of the top 5 teams dropping down and being replaced. I like to think we have a good shot at remaining there, as Amador has the Vuelta a Colombia and East Java remaining which should both give good point hauls and I've got Schelling leading a very solid team at the ToA. Really looking forward to the ToA by the way, and everything is shaping up to be an exciting end of the season.
Orange is doing well and coming around, but I don't think anybody would have predicted them to be where they are at this point in the season. Not sure if they are headed to the ToA, but I would really hate to see Quintana there
As for the individual ranking, I don't think there's a true competition here between Amador and EBH. I think EBH has a lot more racing left relative to Amador.

Honestly still in with a chance of promoting or relegating. Nervous times for us, but I think the back end of the calendar features a lot of Kinoshita, Zaini and Shikai, so hopefully that means a strong push to atleast stay comfortably in the midtable.

Tour of Japan, Emilia & maybe Barbados to decide our fate, we should've been easy survival, but poor racing by our leaders and LLS being a straight-up flop has led us right to the brink, tense times for us.
Awesome to see Isostar's relegation all but confirmed though, who knew Croatia had predicted his team so well!
Thanks SN!

The two updates I feared, but it's about what I expected. From the start of the season I knew ToA was probably going to determine if we finished in the Top 5. Without a top tier climber, this is the risk I had to take.
Warbasse has been terrible this season, so our fate is on the shoulders of Fraile. Hopefully his training over the offseason pays off big.
Thanks for the Update. Ready or not, Tour of America here we come.

Good thing: We were in to p20 both months despite leaders disappointing from an end.
Bad thing: It doen't help much and we are going into what is expected to be our worst mont all season.
We will need to turn things around in October so the tension is kept high all season through.

Glad to see we're out of relegation troubles, hopefully for good now. Some good racing in the last two months really helped us, and just a few more points might be enough to ensure a prolonged stay in PCT definitively

Good to see us move into what should be a fairly secure mid-lower table position come the end of the season. I still have good squads all the way through who should score consistently. I will of course take anything above the relegation spots but it would be great to make the Top 15!

Just a quick note on the points from Österreich Rundfahrt, since the result on stage 4 didn't export properly, the ranking file didn't manage to read the stage file from stage 4 properly. Noticed when I saw that we suddenly had recieved 32 points from the race.
So should be some small adjustments, and makes Amador getting closer to EBH in the individual standings.
Will be something like this:
+ 23 UBS
+ 16 Spar
+ 3 Novatek
+ 2 Orange
+ 2 Fablok
+ 1 Ferrero
- 25 Euskaltel
- 16 Grieg
- 5 Haute Route
- 1 Generali
