how to retire in procyclist mode?

my rider is 38 now, has won it all and his stats have been decreasing for like 2 years (he is almost at level 23 again). i want him to retire while he is still in good shape.
i thought it was possible by simply not signing a contract for the next year but on 28th july i cant continue without signing a new contract.
so is there a way to manually end my riders career? |

It's not like this mode is supposed to continue after your rider retires, so that's the only but also the easiest way.

Try 'PCM Career Explorer' for that. Maybe in the PCM 15 download section. It should have something like what you're looking for, but there's a chance it won't work for PCM 17.

Alternatively with some DB editing you could 'retire' and take up a career with a new rider in the same save game, (might even be possible to edit it so you manage a team but I'm not sure).
Can't check how to do it right not though and not sure if it would actually interest you.

To be fair it probably wouldn't work very well since PCM's year limit is around 2034.

That seems like a pretty pointless limit.
Could it be possible to get around it by just changing the year or is it something more complicated than that?

I don't think so, I'd expect changing the year to have repercussions on the stability unless several tables are edited. At that point it'd probably be worth restarting from 2017

Repercussions as in Basso DB repercussions or more so?
Also, You could copy all the stats, teams, maybe in some form palmares, etc. over to a new DB, 'in 2017' and then technically continue your savegame with a new team/rider.

2037 is the limit year. At least that's what someone found while doing that "2100 and beyond" story
And trek, you would to put all records like 20 years before so you don't have duplicated results (like 2023 results being put in 2003 and so)
